I'd also like to know if some other system for updating will be available to those who don't have an internet connection at the present time, like me.

You sound in a similar position to myself.

What i have had to do is download the patch on my work pc and then take it home, to patch the real one in the house.

Problem is that there is only Beta versions coming out at the moment.

You can only get access to these through stardock central. The update is automatic with no way of isolating it to take it home.

SO WHEN ARE WE GETTING THE FULL BLOWN 1.1 PATCH (NOT A BETA VERSION)

ANYONE KNOW?

you could try using the stardock central archive option?

So installing stardock central on the computer without net access, will allow you to update?!?!

BUMP

So... will we be able to update to the latest verson, on computers without net access? via downloading the patch, burning to a cd, and installing on the internetless computer?

"stardock central archive option" had been mentioned, but dont you need the net for that way to?

thanks

You can get the patch snail mailed to you, but it comes on an 8 3/4" floppy. I am sure you have a drive for that.

(just kidding, of course)

The patches will appear on the downloads section of the site here when they're finalized (right now only 1.0X is there since 1.1 is in beta still). You can log in (and register your serial to your account if you haven't already) and download it there on any computer. Then just copy it to a CD or USB drive and away you go. Do note though that the patches on the site are much bigger than the SDC version (SDC uses incremental updates so you only download waht's changed since the last update). But if you have to use someone else's computer that's your best choice since you won't have to install anything to get it.
