Spelling problems

Really annoying small problem!!

Whenever i play the game and i have to type something i always end up with a load of 'y's with two dots above them. It's a nightmare when you are trying to rename a planet or design a ship class. I'm not sure if it is because i have the ms cordless keyboard and mouse but if anybody has any ideas on how to stop it , i'd be grateful.

Keyboard config must be wrong language, that's a foreign letter. I've noticed that most of the keys are wrong, I have to press @ to get " among other things.
