Capitals on bonus tiles?

Does it make sense to build capitals on bonus tiles (i.e. Manufacturing Capital on a manufacturing bonus tile) or is that just a waste of a tile?

P.S. Thanks to those of you who helped me with economic stragety. I'm much better off for listening.

In most cases, it's a complete waste. Factory and Research bonus tiles just multiplies the PP (Production Points) and RP (Research Points) that the facility generates. While the respective "Capitals" have a set percentage that they add towards the planet's total bonus, and that bonus isn't affected by the tile bonuses (two different values).

The other three tile bonuses:

Food - only affects amount of food produces, IE: farms.

Morale - this actually works on any building that gives bonus morale. So you could put a stock exchange here or a political capital and the morale bonus would double, but it would be best to put morale buildings, since they give the most morale.

Influence - This, contrary to all the other types of buildings is probably the best place to slap that political capital down. The prestige bonus actually works on the capital, but it's pretty much the same thing as a Cultural Exchange Center in this regards (It just has a 50% Morale bonus too), so... yeah, it works, but not that great.

Correct; don't place capitals on bonuses titles. Bonus titles only give a bonus to a planetary improvements that actually produce something (e.g., factory, lab, embassy, etc.). Capitals (except for the homeworld capital) don't produce anything; they just provide a bonus.

Why does the political capitol get the bonus, but not others on their bonus tiles?

Sometimes the computer builds capitals on those bonus tiles... and you cant demolish them once you captured such a planet... :/
