RightClick 1.10b[b].002

RightClick 1.10b[b].002

Okay, 1st most obvious thing : Cursor 'Busy' when using the menu all the time. Other than that I seem to have no menu losses anymore, but I will watch that closely.

Jeff, if I remember right with the menu-builder in old pre 1.0 builds it was possible to make a new entry right before the marked one. Since several builds a new entry always goes to the very end of the menu, which is quite unpractical. is there a chance to get that 'insert' feature back ?

I got my update Friday around 7PM California time.
That is where I got my info..RC config "Help". Just checked my info on RC.exe....same thing..build 742. Sounds like I want your version if mine is messed up. :lol:

This latest version is not saving my shortcut labels. On re-boot it changes the name back to 'shortcut' - bleh.

Hmm.... Hope I don't have to reboot until the next build comes out....

Quit RC and restarting it does the trick.

I also have the Problem that RC is noticed as an non responding app at windows shutdown and windows alsways wants to end it (maybe part of the saving failures). Anyone else with that ?

confirmed here-- at shutdown RC is always hanging on until Windows throws up a dialog to "End Now?"

not here though...i have no problems on shutdown, or with shortcut labels...all seems good so far

same shutdown hang here

I just rebooted...no hang, and I don't need the clock, but still need the tray to stop the "busy" cursor.

That is strange. My installed 1.20.007 shows 739 in RC itself (???)

Just got the 1.20.007 update and: same here...

Maybe! Do you know which server your copy of SDC was connected to at the time?

Which would be around 10 pm Eastern

I wonder how many updates there were on 31-Mar-06? I updated around 7 pm & again around 10 pm-- didn't check the build number of the earlier update...

No idea what server. Is mine better than yours now since I only have to add the tray and not the clock too? Actually, I'm kind of getting used to the tray in RC. I have the icons all hidden on the taskbar, so now it's easier to get to them if I need to.....

Actually, the 1.20.007 update worked fine (no wait cursor) without the clock, taskbar or any other 'extras'.

I too have discovered the usefulness of the taskbar in the popup menu - it's a keeper!

Does anyones right clicK "skin editor" function work?  Mine just always crashes before it starts. "skintool has encountered a problem and needs to close" error.

Hasn't worked for me in the last few builds - I get the identical error.

I guess not much attention is paid to Right Click, but it is one of my favorite OD progys. If they could put Explorer right click functions right on the RC menu it would be even better.

Explorer right click functions

you can just hold the 'Ctrl' key down when right-clicking and you get the explorer functions

The ones I had a little trouble with were the Cascade, Tile (Horizontal or Vertical) Window Functions, until someone posted the following Jscripts

(new ActiveXObject("Shell.Application")).CascadeWindows()

(new ActiveXObject("Shell.Application")).TileHorizontally()

(new ActiveXObject("Shell.Application")).TileVertically()

Just open notepad and paste in the above text (3 different files) add the .js to the file names and then place in any directory and create a shortcut to them in RC. I named mine Cascade.js Tilevert.js & Tilehoriz.js They work like a charm. I wish I could remember who posted the original thread and I apologize to him/her for not giving them proper credit.

The ctrl click doesn't get you context menu on top of right click items which would really help. If they did this right click could replace a whole lot of things.

Almost every reboot I have to restore desktopmenu.obbar to get all the right click functions to work again. (known issue) When is a fix for this going to be out?
Reply #49 Top
The question is, how much attention is invested in this little app. For me I have reduced rightclick to have the most useful functions but no program groups (=submenus) anymore. Using Object Dock + for that purpose. Although I would prefer a stable rightclick on my machines over OD+ for several reasons (german desktop menu with dx or iconx and being able to watch tv on full screen without switching od+ off are only 2 of them).

Also I would really want a new gui for building the menue (same with objectbar) with drag&drop capabilities.
