Diplomacy - Key to Winning Suicide Difficulty?

I started my first Suicide Game 3 days ago, still playing through it. I'm playing Alliance/Coquest only game. I made a custom class that has as many bonuses to Diplomacy as possible.

Basically, my strategy throughout the other rounds I played on lower difficulty was to use Diplomacy to keep everyone at war/peace with each other, so that I can build my own civilization up.

What I've seen so far on Suicide, is that the AI tries to make alliances, or go to all out War, but i can use my ub3r l33t Diplomacy skills to manipulate their course of action. Keeping the AI busy with itself, instead of paying attention to my Fleet Building, and glaringly powerful economy.

I've also noticed that *asking* for money with no trade seems to land me better standing with civilizations, so that I can turn around and bribe other civilizations into doing what I want, while ALSO increasing my standing with them.

Is it normal for the AI to be this maliable towards a Diplomatic Race? Or is something stirring that I don't know about yet.

And thus far, I've also managed to keep my military rating above everyone elses in this manner, while I scramble to get my new technologies up to par with the AI.

If you have maxed race bonus with all dipomacy tech and you've found some diplomacy increasing anomalies this is probably normal.

BigBadGamer: Wouldn't steroid "effects" tend to work against Don Juan's particular charms?

Man, I want the final 1.1 patch to come soon...

Hmmm...probably, especially in regards to mood swings....I guess it works if you are Drengin?

I stay away from beta patches....don't like the hassle....so yeah, 1.1 will be sweet when finalized....

I've noticed that some AI will trade money for money, typcially the Korx cause they tend to be on good terms with my race. I've traded 1000 for 1500 BC with them, but it only started at something like 600 for 680 BC.

I have my race mainly focusing on diplomacy, namely +60% from the chosen benifits and +20% from populists, but I tend not to interfere with other races wars/peace because it tends to result in the drengin swallowing yet another race until they have a strong enough militry to challenge me (I typically don't have a standing navy, just build one when I need it, cause theres less maintainance and other races are much more willing to trade militry technology).
