A few questions

First of all, is it possible to change the randomly generated planets quality? there's a spot for the ranges that a planet can have in the planetdescriptions.xml file, but changing those values doesnt seem to have any effect. I can make it so that all the random planets will be massively upgraded by using soil enhancement etc, and in fact I did that, made it so that the lame planets get upgraded more than the better ones so that they kinda even out. I'd really like to be able to change the planets starting values however (Just so that I can play one game of all class 25 planets ).

Is there any way to change the number of resources that the map generator creates? It might be kind of neat to try a map with nothing to mine, or to have way more then normal.

Lastly, any way to change the bonus tiles on planets? If nothing else I'd like to get rid of the stupid bonus food tiles, as I rarely build farms, and when I do I don't want that many extra people....

You don't have to use them you know... Just build something else on top of them and you will be fine.

Your best bet is to go to the raceconfig.xml file and change the PQ bnous of your favourite race to +100%. This won't make everything 25, just everything above 11. But why would you want to? wheres the fun in winning from a good start? hard, bloody slog all the way!

I like having a lot of people. They give me money. Last game I almost had 1 trillion pop. (yeah it was a huge map) and i was making 1000 bc per turn even with industrial at 100%. Luckily I had 3 mining bases on morale resouces.

Actually, I tried upping the PQ, and it seems bugged. I tried adding a pq option in the abilities file that increased it by 400% just to see if it would work. Your starting colony is awesome, but all your others say pq of 30 or whatever, but they dont have any extra build spots. I agree however that it would be stupid to do that, it would be way too easy. I wanted to be able to make it so that all the planets are really good, so that the ai has the same advantage. Plus it would be interesting to see how the ai handles all that extra build space.....

I'm not one of the players that is compelled to figure out every game statistic and my game play is kind of like spit shining shoes. It is a matter of getting in the right rhythm.

Population is a conundrum, it is good and it is bad. I seldom have a planet with over 15 billion population but in a recent game my treasury was over $250,000 and my economy was producing over $3000 surplus each turn with spending at 100%.

Hehe, this'll soon go with 1.1 and the 3% growth cap. Now you're going to have to manage you're economy differently, and develop new strategies.

Dont you love it when they throw something new at you, to see if you can handle it?
