Ships schmatics disapear

Im nearing the end of a long game and just reciently noticed that when I click on a ship to upgrade it all the weapons and shielding has gone and its empty 0/50 but all the detail on the ships are still there. I even made a quick ship to see if it was me doing somthing wrong but as soon as I saved it I went back to upgrade it and all the weapons that ide put on had vanashed.
A week ago I was trying to figure out what to remove from the ships folder in the game folder but I put them all back in.
I have 15 different designs plus evry time I upgraded them I put Mk1 then next time Mk2 etc.
