A lot of WindowBlinds skins are not showing the webpage all the way to the edges of the screen.

I find this very irrating. Using some of these skins, when starting Internet Explorer, the page is not quite as large as the viewing screen showing some desktop along the edges. This is maximized and no re-sizing is possible. If the center button is pressed, then it can be resized but this is a hassle to have to do it this way. Anyone else noticed this about some skins? Can anything be done about this?

I don't know how to put a screen shot in this forum (I know how to take one, just not how to put it here). Tell me how and I'll do it.

It's not just webpages either, it's anything that maximized. I guess the size must be specified in these skins or something because I've seen a few do this.

get an account at photobucket (it's free) or go to imageshack (or any other hosting site) = upload your pic - copy the http url it will generate and paste that in the box that pops up here when you click "Image"

Are you using the 5.01 release?  If not please install it and see if it helps.

I just installed the 5.01 release and it's still the same. I think it's in the particular skin. Only a couple have done this (not displaying all the way to the edges of the screen when maximized). With the particular skin in question (Lignite) it also has another issue. When viewing a window that's not maximized, hitting the close key (X) does not close it but rather maximizes it. Then hitting the close button a second time (after it's maximized) closes it. Rather irritating after awhile. Maybe this is connected to the other issue? Bummer too cause this is one of my favorite skins to view (but not to use). In its current state it's just too much trouble to use cause I'm always opening and closing a lot of windows, and having to hit the close key twice each time (or minimize it and close it in the Taskbar) and fiddling with the resizing (to get it fully to the edges of the screen) on a constant basis is just too much after awhile.

Here is a screenshot of what I'm talking about. Link

This sounds like the same problem I was having.  Read the other post named "WindowBlinds Borders".  The solution is there.

I don't believe the border screen edge clip issue has anything to do with the close button not behaving properly. Citizen Mike089 is probably correct that the issue he's describing is a skin-specific glitch, one I've never run across, and one I've not seen reported, here or in the newsgroups. The button action & visibility attributes can be looked at in SkinStudio. Exactly what to look for is kind of complicated to explain, but if you look at the settings for a skin that works properly, then compare them with the problem skin, you may see where there is a difference.

As for some skins not "fully" maximizing, they may have "negative" screen edge clip settings, which would have the effect of moving the window edge in from the screen edge when maximized. Loading the skin up in SkinStudio & looking at those settings should tell the tale.

Ok, I got the fully maximized the right size. You were right about the negative numbers for the "screen edge clip" settings in the "Window Borders" section. Top was -4, Bottom was -2, left and right was -2. Changed them all to 0 and it's now fully maximized. Thanks so much for that tip! There are a couple of other skins with this same issue and now I know how to fix that part.

Now the other issue I can't figure out. I don't even know where to look in Skin Studio to see what the setting are for that not closing out a window (if it's not maximized) with the close button. I have also seen a couple of other skins do this exact same thing also.

If you can point out to me where to look and what to look for, I'll do it immediately!

The only thing I've seen so far is right under the "Window Borders" section called "Title Bar Buttons - Free Form". Right under that is "00 Close Window", "01 Maximize Button", "02 Minimize Button", and "03 Maximize Button". Highlighting "00 Close Window" and looking on the right side I see under "Actions", "Actions on Click". Choosing that one shows "Close Window". Dunno what's up. The close button closes it alright as long as it's maximized. If it's not maximized, clicking the button maximizes it instead of closing it. Weird and a bummer to have to go through for closing windows.

In the close window button properties, does it show it being linked to another button? If so, remove that property and give it another try.

I wonder if the skin is corrupted somehow. I just D/L'd & installed Lignite & the Close Button is working appropriately whether a window is Max'd or Normal. Might try deleting it, D/L'ing a fresh copy & re-installing it.

I'll be damned. You're right again. Re-downloaded and installed. The maximized to the edge was still short (but I can easily fix that now), but now the close button works in a normal window. Wow, that's weird. Thanks again dude!

All's well that ends...
