collectors edition

Ok i think i'm missing something here.
I have the collectors edition in the tin box. When i try to update i' prompted for the serial number and the collectors edition serial number.
THe only serial number i can find is on the back of the manual and it says it is a collectors edition serial number.
This number only works in the collectors edition serial number field on the website.

The problem is that this only allows me to download the extras that come with the collectors edition. I don't have the option of downloading the patch.

Is my edition already up to date? Is there a second normal serial number that i'm missing? If so where is it?

The collectors serial number i have doesn't work in the normal serial number field.

Anybody help me out here? i'm a tad confused.
edit : sorry this was meant to be a reply to the missing serial number post. something went a bit screwy.

If it's the European collector's edition, which I think is the one in the tin box, then you need to go to the Paradox website and get your correct serial number. The numbers got screwed up on Paradox's first run or something.

That happened to me. There's an easier way to get the second number. On the upgrade page, there should be a link in the upper right corner. It says something like "Eurpoean users, click here" or something.
