how to install 1.04B on secondary machine without SDC?

Hi,

how can i instal V1.04B on my secondary machine? Do i have to install
StardockCentral on that machine, too? Or is there an executable setup for the
secondary machine to download?

i think the easiest would be to archive it, copy the archive over, install SDC on the 2nd and use it to restore the archive

Maybe not the correct way of doing things but if you don't want to install SDC on the secondary machine (as I do), here's how I went around it (although I can't give you any garantee this will do the trick as it did for me):

  • From the primary, grab the your updated Multiplicity folder and copy the whole folder on a USB key.

  • On the secondary, restart XP in Safe Mode Command Prompt. Then dig down go to your Multiplicity folder (usually under Program Files\...), and rename MultiWin32.dll or MultiWin64.dll (depending on which XP version you use) to, let's say MultiWin32.dl_ (MultiWin64.dl_). Renaming should be accepted as opposed to try deleting the file.

  • You can now type exit to quit the Command window, press CTRL-ALT-DEL and just let XP reboot in "normal" mode.

  • From the USB key on which you previously copied the whole Multiplicity folder, copy that folder back at the exact same place on your secondary machine. Accept all overwriting prompts you get.

  • Then run wise_post.exe, just to make sure all reg keys and dll's are properly registered. Reboot again when asked to.

That's it. That's how I've installed the last 2 builds on my secondary without having to go through SDC and it works just nicely. Hope this will do the trick for you too
