Getting your topic seen

I make a topic, and it disap[ears to somewhere on page 3, every time. No one ever sees the topics I make.
Ok so then I see topics are orgainzed by most recent reply.

Yet, If I add a reply to my topic, it doesnt put it up top with the most recent topics.

Anyone know how to get your topic somewhere that it will be seen?

Thanks.

For example, apparently no one can see THIS topic

I can see it... I just don't have any advice to offer you. The forum software seems to lend itself in that unless a topic catches on as getting a lot of replies, it quickly gets lost.

As much as I hate to become another griper, I do find this forum setup kind of miserable. It's just very difficult to keep track of new posts and what I have and haven't read.

All the other forums I frequent have all posts split up into separate sub-forums (near as I can tell, posts here all get dumped in the "main forum" and only additionally get put in a sub-forum if the poster chooses to). They also have things like "last post/last unread post" links, "mark all posts read" options, fully-functional searches (message bodies as well as thread titles), "show new since last visit", "show all posts by a user", etc.

All stuff that understandably a company with (IIRC) a home-brew setup that doesn't work on forum software full-time isn't likely to bother with, but greatly improves the useability on forum software designed by people who do program such things full-time. (shrug)

Peace & Luv, Liz

Yeah, just be patient. Sometimes it takes a while for new threads and replies to be registered in the main thread display.

Perhaps your topics are boring!!!! Just kidding!

I would put it down to the traffic - you may well be posting at peak times along with a veritable throng of others. Alternately, maybe no one has got any comments or anything to add.

I agree with Liz though, this isn't the best forum setup I've seen.... hmm... being totally frank, it's one of the worst! Still, the content makes up for it.

Ok, thanks for the input. You both think pretty much the same as I do, I was just hoping I was doing something utterly stupid that I could change to make the problem go away, lol.
