Toolbars & Animations don't work with XP SP2 v2082

WB5 / Windows XP Pro SP2 v2082 / no other skinning app

Anyone here tried installing WB5 on Windows XP SP2 v2082?

It's working smoothly and applies all skins nicely, but can't get the Toolbar and Animations to work despite making sure all options allow it to work.

Anyone got a patch or workaround for this issue?  Stardock... please help.

Thanks,

JM

Sorry for the reply delay...

My Windows Service Pack is SP2 v2082.  to be specific:

Windows XP Professional 2002 (SP2 v2082)

What do I need to do to make the toolbars and animations run correctly?  Is there a patch for this?  Thanks... please help.

BTW, I'm not running WB5.0 trial... it's Build 49 x86.  Thanks.

if you're not running the trial (shareware) it would help if you would post the system information from WB configuration

WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report:

STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC.

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

Your machine does not support per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

This is because :

Your computer graphics hardware does not support acceleration of per pixel alpha.  WindowBlinds requires this for per pixel alphablended borders as without it performance would be poor.  Please see if you can obtain new drivers for your graphics hardware.  Recent ATI & NVIDIA boards should support this feature.  Onboard graphics tend not to.

You have one monitor in total.

PLEASE report all this information when submitting a problem report, especially anything related to per-pixel skinning. We don't know what's in that Dell you bought last July or the notebook with integrated graphics the office gave you. Per-pixel skinning requires your drivers to at least claim to support the SB_PIXEL_ALPHA flag in the SHADEBLENDCAPS structure.

Hope you can help... Thanks

If you just downloaded the beta of IE 7 then download animations wont apply and toolbars are not skinned (I mean the IE`s)...I have my xp updated to the max and this is the only bugs that I know of, which is understandable being IE is still in beta stage.

did you have a shareware 1st? if so did you uninstall - reboot?

Have you tried other versions of WB via SDC?

Miss Freeze Me

Since you hadn't posted your info prior to comment #12, I don't think Neil was referring to you.

Miss freeze me ...no, it wasn't you.

One or two comments have been removed...so things just look a wee bit weird....

Oh?  Gosh... sorry guys but I just logged back in today.  This copy of WB's been running in this laptop when I got it from my bro.  If this is a pirated copy, can I use my existing WB4.5 license and get a legal upgrade from stardock.net?

I didn't know it was a pirated install until now.  Neil, do you honestly think I'd have no problems with Toolbars and Animations when I uninstall this thing and purchase a new one from your site?

Thanks.

The highest a WB 4.5 purchaser can upgrade to for free is WB 4.6.  To upgrade to the 5.x series is $15 I believe.

I honestly do not know if your problem would be resolved with a legit copy.  I would suggest trying the trial version which we updated on Tuesday as its much newer than what you were using.
