WindowBlinds Borders

I have transparent borders applied but when the window is maximized it hides from view. It sinks in the edges of my screen. How can i prevent it from disappearing on maximized view?

I have the same problem too. And close, min etc. buttons are not visible

Hmm, I thought that was how the skins were made . I have only had a problem with the close/min/max buttons being half gone; and only on some skins. Mainly Vista clones.

It would be nice if the boarders would show up. Hopefully it isn't a bug in WB5 >_>

On skins which have per pixel borders, the borders will not appear when the window is maximized.  This is identical to what happens with Windows Classic.

The titlebar remains visible and can have per pixel depending on the skin authors choices.

yepper.
but if you use WindowFX you can set the 'maximize size' of you windows so that they stop short of fully maximizing the transparency out. you'll just have to play with the number until you get to your liking.

Well, I've noticed ever since the last update of WB5 my GT3 OS borders are off a tad too.  The taskbar doesn't fully extend to the far right of the screen.  It stops about 1/16th of an inch short... enough to actually see the wallpaper behind it.  And, when maximized, the tops of the title bars are clipped... even on my second monitor.

Everything was just fine until the last update of WB5.

Rebooting should fix the window frames opening larger than the screen when maximized.

Uh... what the heck was that???  Is this guy saying all components of Runtime need to be updated for WB5 to operate properly?

I think it would be best to leave Windowblinds assistance to people like Neil Banfield....as he wrote the program.  Assistance is only as good as the 'qualifications' of the assistant....

Screen edge clip settings are having no effect with the latest beta, even with non-perpixel borders. Rolling back to the immediately prior beta, which was respecting screen edge clip settings for non-perpixel borders, fixed the problem (perpixel borders are a different animal).

Daiwa: thanks for reporting that.  It seems a minor tweak caused that to stop working correctly.

Maybe 300 times in 50 Windows due to blowing the first 49 Windows up

Finally found the solution. The problem was not in WB but in the settings of the ini file itself (which i found out editing the skin in Skin Studio pro). Better use Skin Studio for this... Under the explorer bar, Click window borders, the settings will appear on the right side (section window). Find screen edge clip attribute (there are 4 namely top, bottom, left and right) and change their value to 0(zero). Save and there you have it, the transparent borders will now be visible in maximized view.

Ooops... spoke too soon...

I just tried editing the borders in SkinStudio Pro as per Jey_son's instructions (above).  It no worky.  Changing the value(s) to 0 does not fix the maximized border clipping problem.  Bummer.

Okay, I'm not quite understanding what was said here, but I think what he's saying in his own (programmer/tester) way is that... yes, there is a problem with the lastest beta, but rolling back to the previous beta solves the problem.  So, it's an easy fix for the next beta coming shortly.

Then Neil responded with... "Daiwa: thanks for reporting that.  It seems a minor tweak caused that to stop working correctly."

Am I right... or what?

yeahhh extacto! and ademas many skinners are based on their configuration of the PC at the time of making a skin and often the skin comes with defects.for example mike update brian in arrow 4 in 1 end......on many imagenes was based on "fit to screen" when in my configuration of the PC (something standard) that image of restart the edge is corrupt and I had to fix it single I with skin studio changing of FIT to STRETCH the image bmp or png,,it is to say windowsblind 5 is not that functions bad esque also many skinners are deberian to center in a model to standar of PC and all estariamso but contentments.....

Indeed, the 5.01.006 release fixed the issue. Not all skins have screen edge clip (MaxBorderCut) settings, but they were being ignored when present anyway with the interim beta, due to the minor tweak Neil referred to having an unintended consequence.

Although I haven't loaded up any to see, I was under the impression that the screen edge clip settings were ignored by design when using per-pixel borders - maybe this release has changed that, though SD hasn't advertised it as so.
