Desktop Icons with transparent text

Hi SD-Fans
why can't I make the text below the icons transparent? There is always a background color. Have tried to change it via standard xp procedure: system - enhanced ---- etc. no help.

Is somebody out there familiar with this problem? I did click off the web-flag and did click on the flag in system-enhanced-make icon text transparent. Neither nor did help.

okay..I'm at work with lots of restrictions...but here goes:


open system in control panel - advanced tab - performance > settings - visual effects tab - scroll down and check "use drop shadows for icons on desktop"


found it by: start - help & support - search = 'desktop icon text' - 1 topic came up - "change windows visual effects" - clicked that = didn't find it visual effects display but did find in visual effect system
