A Pleasant Surprise

Altarian AI blows my mind

So I'm playing as the Torians, I line up a few fleets around an Altarian planet, ready to invade... and the AI sends me a message to tell me it knows what's up. The exact wording was, I think,

'Not that we can do anything about it, but we know what you're up to.'

Well done, Stardock. You made me laugh out loud in the middle of Classical Literature 350.

Ah, but do they really know what you are up to, or do they only think they do?

It would be hard to know what I am up to as I don't usually know myself.

Good to see your spending your time properly in Classic Lit.

Money well spent on your college education!

How were your ships lined up? Did you have fighters to take out the ships in orbit and troop transports at the ready? How far away from the planet were they? I'm considering the possibility of exploiting the AI in such circumstances and wonder how close you have to be to signal your intentions.

I guess the big question is what were you doing playing GalCiv in a 300-level class? That's just pure crazy!

Ya, LoL. This is a pretty cool feature, but in one of my games, ever turn a minor race would shoot me something similar to that, and I didn't have any ships anywere near him.

I had a game that the minor race kept sayin that to me and i didnt even know where they were ahahahah.

I wonder if your teacher knows what you're up to.

Maybe the Altarian were more so talking about him playing in class... as opposed to their eminent doom?
Secretly, they were contacting the prof!

Playing in a 300 level course isn't so odd. I'm sitting in a 400 level databasing course. I look at it as a way to learn how to multi-task.

I had the Drengin cuss me out for rolling a fleet of transport's through 'their' space; they had negligible military presence, and I was just cleaning up a conquest victory. They kept shooting me messages every couple of turns, some of what they said was pretty funny. Then they surrendered to an ally of mine right before I was about to conquer their last couple of worlds. They seemed to think that was funny.

If its a college class (pretty sure it is) then the professor does'nt really care because its totalbasscase's money and education at stake.

I think she thinks I'm just on the regular internet. The idea of GalCiv2 probably hasn't occurred to her.

Warui: I get that a lot, but not since I installed the 1.1 beta. They seem to have taken care of that.
