Flickering taskbar

I'm having problems with my taskbar flickering when using some of the skins in WB5. The retro-skin seems fine, but iFlex and Cyclops makes my taskbar flicker every second or so..

I've tried to remove WB completely and reinstall it. I've also updated to the latest graphic-cars drivers.

Here is the info from the system-information:

WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report:

Are you reinstalling from SDC? Your files are significantly older than mine.

Hmm. Maybe this is a problem that has been adressed? You see i'm not using SDC, I bought WindowsBlinds as a stand-alone product, and I used the download-link I received in the email from Stardock. Anyone know where I can download the latest version of WB5?

Do you have Clipmate installed?

The taskbar addin from that app causes the taskbar to flicker badly on any skin that uses a semi transparent taskbar.  We have discovered the problem (clipmate is doing something unexpected) and the beta releases of WB5 which can be downloaded using SDC should resolve this.

I believe registered WB customers can also use SDC to download the beta releases.  Just enter your WB registration information under WindowBlinds in the registration section and make sure show beta releases is enabled.

No, never used clipmate I'm afraid, but I'll try to download the latest version using SDC..

I just noticed this for the first time when I installed the new "Solaire-dark" skin. Never had this problem before with other skins, so it has to be a Skin issue.

I'll bet the "Start" button is skined (everyone does). I suspect that the way some skin writers are trying to update the look of their start button assumes a particular size, and if your Taskbar is resized, then this update/refresh won't match up and you therefore see a "flicker".

I suspect it's a minor bug in "Skin Studio" that needs to be addressed.

I tried updating with the latest WB trough SDC, but still no success. It's only on the skins with semi-transparent taskbars though..

I'm also having this problem with several of my skins. I've never had a graphical problem with Windows before, so this is a little wierd. I'm trying to use this new Vista Skin, looks so awesome , but the taskbar flickers every second or two. I can't stand it. Sorry for bringing this post back up.

open WB configuration, click system info and either post a screen shot of it or copy/paste to here all the info that shows up

Pretty sure it's just a problem with the skin, but ok. WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report:

Also, is it possible to post on the forums without using this stupid stardock central? It sucks compared to using a normal web browser...

have you tried going to Wincustomize.com and clicking the forum tab?

this:
Wbload.exe 2005/12/21 00:04:40

is indicative of trial

while this:
Wbsrv.dll 2005/12/20 22:57:44

bespeaks of crack

This may also have something to do with my resolution, which is 1280x1024, my monitor's native resolution and has been running it fine ever since I got it a little more than a year ago. I think it' just an issue with these skins and my comp matching up or something. Any help is appreciated.

Interesting.. Didn't know the trial needed a crack.

well, the wbload is a couple of minutes off

and this:

Wbsrv.dll 2006/02/05 13:58:22

is the correct one for 5.01.006 release

So how about the original problem? The flickering taskbar? Any ideas on it?

your files don't match and your WB is deteriorating

A flickering taskbar issue was caused by the clipmate taskbar addin.  In which case WB 5.01 or later resolved this.

Got the email, but it says WB isn't registered to it. Guess I'm stuck paying this 20 bucks over.
Oh, and I've never heard of clipmate.

click the link in #16

get your serial

uninstall the one you have, reboot, use SDC to register your serial, use SDC to donwload/install WB

you've got to use the same email you purchased with, if you have changed your email addy and the one you previously used is no longer available to you, put in a help ticket and they can work it out.

Like I said, it's telling me I don't have a serial. I'm just gonna buy the thing over. I honestly think this 1 skin is worth 20 bucks. Shame I need to buy a half-broken program to use it
