Very Dumb Question

Hey, sorry if this has been gone over and over and over and over and over ad infinitum, ad nauseum. But I don't get textures on any of the starships. The suns, planets and even the "space junk" ship anomalies have textures. I've updated my video drivers but alas, no fancy special video affects. Did I miss something in the manuals? (obviously)

I have a 2.4GHz CPU with 512MB of RAM. I have an NVIDIA GeForce MMX440 with 64MB of VRAM.

Maybe that's the problem. Am I going to have to get a better video card to see the textures? Again, I apologize if something like this was posted elsewhere or if I'm missing something obvious.

Thats a quite old card you have there. Ofcourse it´s rarely wise just to upgrade to better card if you have working one in your system and your content with it, but in this case I would recomend it. You can DX9 card with less than 80e or 90$ these days.

I would also recomend buying additional 512MB ram, with that Iam sure you can enjoy more speedier system and better GalCiv2 experience

Probably. You can go to pricegrabber.com
you can get the new generation cards for about 110, or a gen. before that for about half that amount. either one should work.

Thanks, guys! I was starting to get all upset because I couldn't see the pretty textures.

Of course it doesn't detract from this game any though. *lol*
