BUG: Crash from Shipyard

I experienced an application crash from the shipyard when trying to design a new ship. It's not from the standard workflow so I will attempt to describe the procedure. I tried the procedure and the crash was repeatable:

1) When a ship build notification happens, click "go to" to get the ship build screen
2) From there, click "Shipyard"
3) Click "New"
4) Design a ship and attempt to save

The first thing you'll notice is that the prompt to enter a description and save the design does not show up. Since you can't seem to save the ship, give up, and continue the procedure

5) Click "Done" and when it prompts you to lose unsaved changes, click "Yes"
6) Back to the Shipyard, also click "Done"
7) Now back to the Notification screen, click "Done"
8) Now you see the dialog with the ship description prompt, was hidden behind the notification window.
9) Click "Yes" to dismiss the dialog, GalCiv2 should crash to desktop.

I experienced this on Campaign Scenario 2. Did not try this procedure on other scenarios, in fact actively avoiding it

One thing you might try is, if your video card software allows, match your anti-aliasing settings with the setting in galciv's options screen. So if galciv is set to 4X antialiasing, then go out to your card software and set it from "application controlled" or whatever its on to 4X. It can be anything, just make sure they match, and you are running 32 bit color in 1024x768 resolution, and you have latest drivers, directX, etc. I reccomend latest soundcard drivers as well.

Have you downloaded the patch?

From the list of things fixed in it:
+ Fixed the GNN/Shipyard popup problems. Basically the popups are forced to the front.
