Crash while loading savegame

As the title says, when I try to load an autosave from the 2nd mission of the campaign, the game crashes.

This is obviously not good. I'd love to submit the savegame for the devs to look at, but don't know how to do so.

Actually can you email me at brad@stardock.com.

And check your \%my documents\my games\galciv2 directory and see if there are any 0 byte files in there.

There have been a few reports of something like this and I agree, it's a big deal. Unfortunately, it's also very unusual so we're trying to figure out the exact parameters to reproduce it.

I had this problem a few times. I can tell you exactly when it happened. I was having the mouse cursor freeze problem, when it happened the cursor itself froze but it was still there, only invisible. I could then save my game and exit out for a reboot (only way to fix the mouse.). However, when I got back into the game and tried to load the game I had saved, it was corrupted and the game crashed to the desktop. I had to delete the save. This happened to me twice, and I noticed the connection.

I have switched to the hardware mouse, and havent had any problems since (of this nature).

I have alot of crash issues when I try to reload old save games. I think the main reason for this is me deleting the ships that I used back then as I keep swapping my ship styles around. A neat looking terran combo looks like a pile of crap when you load it using ship styles of other races.
