A list of possible bugs/problems/suggestions

Besides Brad's list of known issues, I couldn't really find any other list of bugs/suggestions. I figured I might start one and add on to it.

Possible Bugs:
1) While pressing space and click the change of perspective button in planetary invasion mode, it will quit the invasion. (While in windowed mode on 1024x768)
2) Star-base can be set to auto-retreat.
3) regenerated anomaly show up on the map even if it is located somewhere covered by the fog of war.
4) hit point bonus from xinathium hull plating only show up on the planet that it is built
5) Auto-pilot lines is not reflected on the mini map immediately.
6) Starbases aren't supposed to be built 3 parasec within each other. Yet in different sector you can build it side by side, shown below.
A | B
------
C | D
Perhaps this is how the designers intended?

Text fix:
1) Population is displayed in terms of (15.00) b. Yet the food production tell you it can feed 4 million people.
Shouldn't the food production be able to feed 4 billion people?
[edit:] Avatar Frogboy: That said, food = population cap. 10mt - 10 billion not million. If it's saying million, it's a typo (we decided later on in dev to make populatoins measured in billions).

Suggestions:
1) allow the survey ship to stay in search for anomaly mode (so it can grab new anomalies)
2) an auto-launch option and allow the ship to be launched through right click on GNN reports.
When launching a ship from orbit, allow the player to choose where the ship will appear (might be the difference between life and death in early games) 3) show how developed a mine starbase is
4) Instead of showing the next technology when the previous research is completed, show the technology on the top of the list depending on the classification.
5) Display the population growth right after the population (You can tell whether you need extra farms at a glance)
6) Be able to mark certain technology as 'obsolete' or hidden so that you won't have to deal with it. (Stellar cartography on tiny maps *cough*)

Nit-picks (pretty minor, can ignore this)
1)"This Galactic Achievement doubles the odds that alien civilizations will surrender to you when they decide to surrender."
if they are already DECIDED to surrender...
2) When a race is defeated, there's a "speak to" button.

What I was hoping to see in the game (but wasn't in the game, meh, shouldn't have missed the beta):
1)Race-unique technology/traits
You would think that hive-mind aliens would have different abilities.. then again, I guess that's covered by traits such as loyalty. We just have to get our imagination working.
2) Natural satelite (such as the moon) and rings (saturn's)
those would give bonus to the planet. Then again, this is would probably be like the precursor mines bonus but with a little more flavor to it. [edit:] saw in another post that ring around a planet gives 10% bonus to research.
3) star revolving around the sun
I was REALLY hoping the the stars would revolve around the sun..... and then the enemy transport would miss my planet by one turn and my ships will be constructed in time to protect it. It wouldn't make too much sense juding on how parsec works.. but it might have been interesting. I hope everyone can gather up all the bugs/suggestions in one place.. that way it will be easier on the development team to see the feedbacks and it will be easier for us to browse through the forums.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but in the course of playing one game, I obseleted a few of the core ship designs.
The next game I started, they were still gone from the shiplist, with no visible way of bringing them back.
So basically, I don't have any premade ships with basic equipment for the next game start.
I should've never obseleted them, as it appears that they are gone for good. Shiplists carry over between games.
Would love to know how to bring the default designs back.

I think I have found some too, hopefully these arent reported yet:

bugs?

1. The rotation of hardpoints, while rotating they won´t rotate full circles.

2. Circling hardpoints won´t dissapear from the ship design components box even if you try to delete them.

3. Using software mouse cursor the help pop ups sometimes dont get drawn away and stay on the screen. Should I use hardware mouse?

4. In some screen I can actually buy all the stuff in the planets improvement queue. In planets menu this is not possible.

5. In planet screen choosing upgrade button results really weird stuff, like a mine changing to farm etc?

suggestions:

1. In ship design, the component really should remember its size. Meaning when I add a component drag a size for it, go to another component and back again, the slider should change to match it size. I really got frustrated when adding engines to my design, but when messing around with other things in the middle then got back to engines. Just to find out that I can´t find the EXACT size anymore

I agree, especially about the research, right now it is a complete headache researching, it should always default to the top of the list.

MINOR:
Don't know if anyone else gets this one or not:

Going to the planetary details screen abruptly cuts out the music, leaving the screen just as abruptly returns the music to normal. The pleasant rainforest/wind ambiance music plays when the window is up.

Suggestion: allow the music to continue playing or smooth the transition a bit.

Still on my first game, farking awesome so far guys!

If I'm not mistaken.. trade goods have been changed in term of how it is used. You have to build it on one of your precious zone and it cannot be destroyed. You can offer/trade the bonuses from the trade goods to other civilizations while keeping the bonus.

In short, it works just like a technology that the first person to acquire can have monopoly over, right?

*bump* since the following bug is still not addressed by any Dev while others one have.

"While pressing space and click the change of perspective button in planetary invasion mode, it will quit the invasion. (While in windowed mode on 1024x768)"

Another way to do this (in full screen mode) is to change the camera angle to top-down then pressing esc.

so basically, one can repeat this process till a ship comes to take out the transport.

I guess this is more like an exploit...
but it might seriously affect the metaverse if people starts to abuse it.

And moon gives production bonus. You need to hit the deatils button in the planetary view to see it.
