BUG: Planets social projects not completing

In my first game, I have a situation where 3 of my 5 planets have completed social projects (weeks to complete = 0) but turn after turn, the project fails to complete and go to the next item. I can manually move the project down to a lower level and the next project will build, but putting the completed project back to the top of the queue basically ends production. I can send a save game if you wish. I have exited the game and reloaded to no avail. Unfortunately this ends this game as I was already behind in the game (but it was peaceful and I enjoyed just learning the game).



Any suggestions?

thats why i prefer to get the cd since i dont have to bother with the downloading of multiple files and trying to make sure that it all installs properly

Well, if it is reproducible, send a savegalme to gc2bugs@stardock.com. BTW, what did you do? Rushbuild a title subject to upgrade?

I'm not sure it's reproducible, but my savegame definately shows that the project is not completing. As far as rush building, yes, I did rush build a couple of the projects but I'm sure that one was not rush built. Two of the three were upgrades to Research Academies while the 3rd was a factory. I'll send the file in tonight (around 7pm est) since it's on my home computer and I'm now at work.

Most of my bugs (which happen when I play long time) correct themselfs by quick saving and reloading the game again

These bugs are ships forgetting their commands (guard etc), not being able create fleets and mine resources.

I sent in the save file.

I have had this happen a few times more in my new game. I seems to happen only when projects are rushed from the Planet/Ship bar on the main interface. It does not seem to happen after a new save, but does happen after the game has played for several turns. You can tell that the project will get stuck immediately after you rush it because if it does it correctly, the next project will cycle up. If it sticks, it goes to 0 weeks and stays there. You can clear it by going to the production queue and deleting the project (you have to move it down and then back up first). However, you are out the credits and production. I only mention this work around as it might save someone's game. I usually quicksave now before rushing a social project and just reload if I get the project stuck.

Thanks to nitey's observations, we were able to track this one down and fix it.  Thanks, nitey!  Unfortunately, the fix won't help saved games with this problem, but know this: your production wasn't in vain because improvements with this issue were built in the same location on whatever planet you last looked at in the colony management screen--even if that location wasn't normally usable!  Until we release a patch (which I think will be tomorrow), you can work around this problem by not rush building from the Planet/Ship window.
