Why are YOU not playing yet?

and also why I am not playing yet

I thought I'd have time till 21.00 now it's 19.50, and the game is fully installed. however, I have a beef on the oven (1000kg!).
So I need to water that now and then, if I play galciv, i am surely distracted enough to forget it and burn the roast!

Why can't you play yet?

You have a metric ton of beef in your oven? How many people in your family? 2500?

(Mmmmm. Beeeeef. My wife makes me eat veggies all the time. Can I come to your house?)

I'm at work. I rarely find it problematic to be here, but today I'd much rather be at home, refusing salad and carrot-snax and playing GalCiv II.

I ran home during lunch and got it installed. But now I'm back at work...

Waiting.

I work in an IT Department, so this reminds me of when we send out a company wide email saying, in bold, "Attention: Rebooting the printserver. You will not be able to print for 10 minutes." and then get bombarded with calls and emails from people saying "HELP! I CAN'T PRINT!"

so, to answer the original question...
I'm sitting at work.
Two hours to go...

After spending a whole day yesterday going "its the 21st! why cant I play?" (im in +10 GMT...Melbourne, Australia) Im just going to have to spend 8 VERY long hours at work before rushing home and ignoring my family for some quality GC2 time... =P

Because there are no files left for me to download, even though I know I need MANY more. I would really like to know why these files are not there for me to download!

well I fear for companies all across the world as the plague known as GC II is unleashed. Prepare the vaccines or alteast a addiction support network or something.

ARG WHY MUST WE WORK TO PAY BILLS?

I want to go home and rule the galaxy dangnabit, not sit in a little room getting paid while foaming at the mouth to get home and start the game! Oh well, 6 hours to go . . .

(and I preloaded everything I could preload, watched the tutorials several times, so I doubt I'll run into the sound problem Sir Frogboy)

Looks like they're all downloading it now. I'm just trying to get the executable and... it's... moving... really... really... slowly... (and no, I'm not on dial-up).

While I had an almost instantaneous download (sheerly by accident) at 1:00PM EST, I am taking it easy with the game. You might call it savoring it, like a fine wine. I don't want to burn myself out with a 20 hour marathon gaming session.

I have started a few games and then ended them. I tried a normal game as the Terrans. I also did a totally custom game. And then a Terran vs. Drengin canned game. Then I came here.

I was hoping that I'd read a few glowing reports from various people. I see that a few people are having download issues and sound problems related to not downloading some files. I sincerely feel for those folks. The game is incredible.

I'm a European (Belgian to be exact). That's why I'm not playing it yet: there still is no game to play with...

Err... I'm not playing it because according to Stardock central, the game files haven't been updated yet.... I'm assuming I'm the only one with this problem?

*Edit* Sigh.... The very second I hit the submit link, I got a pop up from Stardock informing me that the files are ready for download.

Snarfer! My local EBGames store (that I preordered from) wont have it delivered until tomorrow At least I know that I helped Stardock out by helping them get shelf space @ EBGames

Freaking work...ug, I just want to play, so very very badly. Oh well. I'm helping others on the forum with tech problems in the meantime. Oh...and I'm occasionally doing work.

Because I have to buy retail because of a cap of how much internet traffic I can use up every month. Sooo hopefully tomorrow (if you guys did 1-day shipping).

Still waiting for ebgames to ship the darn thing. I expected an email from them with a tracking number when I woke up this morning.

It's 1535 Central time and the servers are so tied up that the games folder on SDC is a perpetual flashlight.  And then doesn't indicate an update is available
