What's up with the speed

I cancelled my pre-order with Amazon (said today it would ship in 1-2 weeks???). I then did the "pre-order" from here. I got everything through ok, received my confirmation and all. Now I am downloading the game and it is averaging about 45 kb/sec. I usually have averaged about 150 kb/sec. I don't get it. Recently, I downloaded something and it was cruising between 250-300 kb/sec.

I don't want to stop it now (would that be okay?), but with this speed I won't be able to use anything until tomorrow. 45 kb/sec on average seems really slow for what I normally get.

From the stickied post about download problems:

(3) The base game will download slower than the other modules. In Stardock Central there is a menu called tools. Go to Settings, pick Internet and you can try a different server to see if that helps your download speed. The base game should download at speeds from 30k/sec to 300k/sec depending on where you live, time of day, etc. The bulk of the game, however, should download at whatever the maximum your connection is as we have set up mirrors world wide. The base game is being set up so that we can update it very often. The other stuff won't need updating (i.e. movies and such) so we can mirror that more.

Woah, this seems to be right. The next part appears to be going at about 200-250 kb/sec on average.

Yeah, they are on different servers at different locations to try and balance it out.  We tried to keep the biggest bits on the servers that have the most available bandwidth, which is why the base game ended up on a slower pipe.  I hope the overall experience was OK, though.

It's on the movie part now (monster of 551 mb), but so far I would have to say a big "Yes!" to this being a fine experience so far.

How do I view the tutorials again?

The tutorials launch from the main game menu screen (where you have options of: "New Game", "Continue Game", "load Game", etc.)

How do I view the tutorials again?

Once they're downloaded, they're in the Gfx\Tutorials folder. You'll need a player that can view .bik video files. http://www.radgametools.com/ is the standard place to get such a player. Download the Bink video player from that site, and open the tutorial videos through it - and enjoy.

EDIT> Or what KarmaGirl said, once the game is actually available to be played. My instructions apply if you're trying to view them before the game is officially released.

Okay, HELP!

I downloaded the first 3 parts, but the multimedia stuff is now not a choice at Stardock. It just disappeared and I cannot download it.

Hmmm. that shouldn't happen.

The first thing I would try is closing and reopening Stardock. If that doesn't work reboot.

If that doesn't work it's a problem and you might have to reload stardock
