Uhm, kinda big bug in the version 1.0.005

here it is, when i open my finances window, all the data is off center, and the exit or "done" button doesn't work and i come up with the shown message. the only way i can exit is by hitting f1 to get to my ships menu =/

Don't see how you'd be playing 1.0.005 unless you did something you probably shouldn't of (like using an old exe), or are posting on a different name than your main.

I request Information, the same way the others before me did!

But really, what's the small file to modify

UNLESS the company specificaly says not to ask

iirc it was said by frogboy that they think you can still run the beta using the updated pre-load files simply by dropping the relevant exe's and dlls in. Perhaps this is what he did?

Yeah this sounds like maybe someone decided to try to use an old .exe to bypass the waiting period. And he shouldn't expect a whole lot of sympathy or even any help until Tuesday when it's available. Kudo's for finding any way.. but he shouldn't be complaining, when he's not even using the actual parts.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone just came in and typed... hahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa.... but tha's mean. *grin*

It stands to reason that if you're using an earlier version of the game executable, that no matter what other game resources you have preloaded, you're still effectively running an older version of the game code.

I guess the stardock guys aren't really watching the forums...I'm surprised they haven't weighed in on this post, or removed it or something. Wouldn't think they'd want people posting screenshots from a final release, especially a cracked one.

I'm guessing the Stardock guys are going to be a bit busy for the next few days...

Someone from stardock ban this idiot.

Looks like an old EXE with the new data. I'd wait 'till tuesday to play the game, honestly. You'll get the newest code and wont get weirdo errors like the one above

Or they'll say something like that.

I mean seriously you thought it would work?

Heh. This is actually pretty funny. Maybe you should upgrade your EXE to the latest version. Shouldn't be too hard. Why don't you try changing the version number with a hex editor?

Not a bug -- he's playing Beta 5's EXE with the Preload.
