I have my ObjectDock set to allways be on top, but for some reason every now and then (maybe about 40% of the time) it doesnt stay on top. Anyone know how to fix this?

Nah still botched in 1.5, something odd I noticed, and I'm unsure if this happens to anyone else (I did not go through extended testing), whenever I opened a file on winamp this happens (as active programs only had firefox, and the folder with the songs, same applyed to opening a winamp skin from the desktop :O ). Oddly enough when I opened the exact same file with windows media player, vlc player, bsplayer, media player classic, gspot (was just trying random things) it all worked fine. In a nutshell whenever I used winamp it sent my stuff to back, will post if I find further info like conditions where it works fine etc. Ah and it's only when the program itself is started, meaning changing songs is perfectly fine O_o

You're right, I was able to get the bug to trigger, just much later. Sucks.

What's even dumber is that now that I've purchased the StarDock package for $50, I've learned that the one product you DON'T get with it is ObjectDock! How dumb is that? What a waste.

How is this still an issue? Is ObjectDock being dropped or something? This has been a known issue, documented pretty well here, for how many years? Hell, make a shortcut key to do the "uncheck and recheck always on top." Better than nothing...

@SoopahMan ouch that sucks :S

Don't know jamesavery22, but it would be realy nice to see this solved.
So far still haven't managed to reproduce it other than with starting winamp process for which it seems (at least for me) to trigger the bug 100% of times.

Here's something you might want to try in the mean time, see if you get any milage out of it. ObjectDock will set itself to not always on top if it detects a game is on top. It's fairly specific so i don't know how it might be getting fooled, or particularly, how it would ever get stuck. But try this:

1) Unload ObjectDock
2) Locate your ObjectDock settings folder. Going to the following folder will take you there:
C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus\
(Local Settings may be hidden so you may not be able to browse to it, so just pop that into the run dialog)
3) Open "Settings.ini"
4) Under the top header ("[Settings]") you may notice an option there that reads:
DisableFullscreenGameDetection=0
change that to to read
DisableFullscreenGameDetection=1
5) Open ObjectDock back up


If it fixes the problem, it'd be a nice hint as to what's happening!

Hey guys. Use these steps and then clear the Stardock cache (or just try clearing cache only). Cache is in the documents and settings folder for your user. It worked for me.

I'll give that a shot although I can only assume now if I play a game in full screen I can expect to see my dock show up when I mouse down... .

Was this every resolved. I am running 1.90 Plus Build 535u and it still gets lost behind other windows every so often. I tried all suggestions in the posts above. Thanks.

simonmason there have been other posts on the same subject. You might be better served in starting a new post. A lot of times posting on a old thread just gets lost.

I'll be looking for your post. I use ObjectDock Plus on a XP computer with no problems.
