excluding applications--CorelDraw/PhotoPaint

I just DL'd Windowblinds yesterday, everything seems to be working to specs...except!...

PhotoPaint-part of the CorelDraw suite v.9-skinned up nicely but when I went to save a file for the second time (to another directory) the "file" menu became completely transparent (using copper_deck_2_wb5). I could see a thin outline but none of the menu items.

So I went to the WB control panel and the setting for "per application." Told WB to exclude PhotoPaint from skinning (didn't like that dark grey background and tool bar, anyway) but even after a reboot, the dark background was there, the dark tool bar unchanged, and the program seems to be using the skin colours rather than any I might have set in windows itself. The tilebar icons (close, minimize and resize) were "classic" windows--so that was the only thing that I could see had changed.

What am I missing? I live in PhotoPaint and cannot tolerate having the program freeze or malfunction after I've just spent a lot of time altering a photo--sometimes at the pixel level.

I think it has to do with the fact that WB skin modifies your color scheme as well, so, just a guess the app window and 3D objects/frame have that dark color specified. I had similar problem with desktop background and the only thing that fixed that was editing skin in SkinStudio and modyfying color scheme itself. Now everything is peachy. And no, Corel 8/9/10 does not like WB at all. Had the same problem with transparent menus as well.

RoanmingGnome is correct. The color scheme is determined by the WB skin being used.

Not necessarily true - I've been using Corel Draw and Photo Paint 10 for about a year with WB, and no problems.

How about CorelDraw 11? If 10 is no problem, 11 ought to be OK too?

I downloaded the trial of 12 and used it a bit, with no problems. I eventually decided the upgrade wasn't really worth it, as there didn't seem to be many improvements. Since then I've read other comments about 12 being buggy. Don't know about 11 though.
