Using Hotspots to Bring to Front

Is there a way to configure a mouse hotspot to bring a dock to the front of the screen?

I have a dock that contains nothing but my clock, calendar, battery meter, etc. I want this to be large enough to see at a glance, so I can't have it Always on Top or it will interfere with whatever application I'm currently using, so I set it to normal z-ordering. However, I'd like to be able to bring it at any time, so a mouse hotspot is the only reliable way to do this. (Also, I'm using a convertible Tablet PC, so I don't always have access to the keyboard to use a koystroke to accomplish this).

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

OK. Now I feel like an idiot! Apparently, without any configuration at all, it appears the default behavior is exactly what I need!

In the Plus version if you right click on the dock, choose "dock settings" [so your first step might be "Purchase OD+".

THe second item down on the left is labeled "Hotspots". Click it.

Click on the little arrow where you want your hotspot. Select your desired action in the como box below it.

Problem solved?

Also, under the 'positioning' option (for non-tabbed dock BTW) beneath the z-order list is a 'Use Mouse Activation' option.

I have the dock set to 'Normal' z-ordering and if you bump the mouse against the screen edge in the vicinity of the dock it brings it to the front (even if another window is completely obscuring the dock).
