Unlocker 1.8.3 released

http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

I have seen several threads in the past months about not being able to delete locked folders.  This might be a great solution.

I'm curious as to why you'd need this on any sort of regular basis.

In 20 years of using a PC I could still count on one hand the number of times I think I'd need something like this (?)

In 6 years of using a pc I can count on both hands how many times I could have used something like this. I have no idea why some folders just lock up, but its happened numerous times.

I often unzip files into a folder-- a WC example: a set of png OD icons. After moving the ones I want to keep, I delete the folder I used for unzipping. Frequently I get a popup saying that the folder cannot be deleted because it is in use or write-protected. In such cases, there's no reason for Windows to prevent the deletion. Without Unblocker, the alternative is to remember to come back & delete the folder after a reboot-- pointless & hard to remember. I love this app!!!

I sometimes want to delete a file that is locked for some reason. In the past I've used IsUsedBy to see what process is preventing the deletion.. Unlocker is an easier solution..... Thanks ID.

Chris TH ...I've found that often if you create a new folder via the 'save as' dialogue in IExplode and then try to delete it/them via another app they will be locked by IE...and sometimes closing IE doesn't release them...only a reboot fixes it....

/me shall test this one...
