You have to remember that Rudy was about as inspiring as a guy in a K-mart ad. I didn't like Paul Kim per se, I just figured that he would have lasted a little longer. I don't think it was two days earlier, was it? If so, that is some timing. Strangely, the emotion of all of that didn't hit me until the day after the show. In the morning, I somehow felt really sad for that poor guy. Stuff like that can happen to anybody. It makes one think. . . What I fear will happen next season will be a flood of people with sick partners and a petition who will have to be turned away from auditions. "TV Magic" like that can only be captured once.

I enjoyed tonight's Los Angeles auditions. The judges seemed relaxed, the show was one hour long, and they only showed three contestants who made it to the next round. Shovelheat, I admire your enthusiasm. I am not sure however whether this Anna Kearns is any good. Just not enough information. We shall certainly see. At this point, I am tentatively rooting for her. Speaking of "rooting for" someone: My wife and I were watching some of Clay Aiken's American Idol 2 clips on YouTube. I wonder whether there will ever be another contestant with his appeal. (I mean his albums aren't all that impressive, but he was a fantastic contestant.)
