Office has it's own "skin", and it's not friendly to skinning with something like WindowBlinds. So unless Microsoft changes it, there's not much chance of it happening.

Just a note that folder portals require Windows 7 or above.

I'm liking it. It took a couple of days to get used to it, which is the same whenever I switch to a different mouse.
I don't see this making Linux dominant over anything.
