I have to say that I'm also pleased, and I've yet to personally have an issue with the service that Stardock has not quickly resolved. (That being said, I have a self-built computer with only quality components, thus removing most of the hardware issues that seem to plague those with "budget" PC's.)

If I missed this one on the first read-through, forgive me. What I'd most like to see added is the ability to focus individual planets on different economic balances than the empire as a whole. I constantly wish for this ability at the beginning of a game, as my colonization strategy involves massive transport building at first, then having each new planet building one transport quickly to claim another system. I'd like to be able to drop the military spending on my inner planets, so they can
Heh... I doubt anything that recent will show up, unless it's a stardock game.
The best hint: It looks like Stardock's just about ready to release the next game. I won't spoil the surprise, but it's one worth waiting for, if the reviews are true.
Tricky, littleboy. Tricky.
At least the beta of GC2 will happen in the next year. As for the game itself, It'll be close. Personally, I plan to stay subscribed because I've been so impressed with Stardock's customer support on the few issues I've had.
double post... bah
I've heard unofficially that the option should be here in the next 2 weeks.
I'm a drengin.net subscriber with 30 days remaining on my subscription. I didn't see a totalgaming.net renewal option when I went to renew my subscription, only a new subscription option. Is there in fact a renewal option/price, or do I need to go with the full price option? Thanks, Vinco
I've followed this issue for a while, and it seems to be an issue with the agreement with Ubisoft. Stardock apparently had to make a number of compromises to get Ubisoft to work with them on this, including copy-protection, and probably this.
Are you running CloneCD as well? If so, turn off the option to hide CD-R media, and it should work for you.
The guardians of the light, and servants of darkness expansions each include half of the original game, in addition to extra campaigns. You get the full game.
I had the same issue. The solution was to uninstall SDC, then delete the remainder of the SDC directory. Upon reinstalling SDC, the next download and install worked perfectly.

Once Stardock Central lists no more updates, you're good to go.
About the serial number for patches... I've heard that Stardock will occasionally release "special" patches for serial numbers in heavy use (i.e. pirated ones). It seems to be another level of control for them, as even an installed copy of the game can't be upgraded if the serial number is pirated, leading to frustration for the pirates, and hopefully convincing them to actually buy the game.
