Would this be why the game sometimes doesnt let me log into MP, stating my username/pw are wrong? and why i freeze up after the intro video for 5 mins, or when trying to add a friend?

Mine was 1.88gb to download, and took a lot more disk space once installed.
I cannot find a game manual, im running the stardock download version. Some say it should be in the \bin dir, but im 100% its not here. Is the manual a seperate download? cheers Nirv.

OK, so had it on pre-order, but never got around to playing. Today i had to format my Pc, so installed it. When i click on my Gal Civ2 Desktop icon, and Switch chapters, i only see the original Gal Civ 2, and Dreadlords. This is a fresh Vista install today, and a free stardock download and install of all the Gal-Civ 2 bits. Any help? Thanks

I have got them working now, but they just seem to cut out at random points, tried the basic tutorial 3 times, and it just stops at differing points, same for the logistics tutorial.
Hmm seems to be some time delay in posting and seeing replies, also wont let me edit posts. Seems to work at that low res, thanks, will wait for a patch though my lcd doesnt seem to display that mode very well without a weird flicker and lines through everything. cheers.

Yup i changed the vid settings to my 1680 resolution. Thats about it. Will come back another time and see if there is a fix / patch. Im way too old to learn games the hard way with kids distracting me lol Thanks anyways.
tried loading/reloading the tutorials many times, rebooted a few times too. Only the Logistics one has any text, and that just abrubtly stops after pressing okay a few times. The only game like this i ever played was Gal-Civ years ago. Where do i start? /baffled
Hmm okay i tried a different tutorial, the logistics one, and i did indeed get some text explaining what the goals were and helping me under stand the game, but after about 4 instructions, i pressed okay to continue, and the text vanished, leaving me floating in space again wondering what the hell im meant to be doing. Of the other 3 tutorials, none even have text showing me what to do, it just loads the game world, and thats it. Bit of a steep learning curve aint it? :s Guess
Ok so just bought and installed. Had an hour to mess with the tutorials. However i click on the basic gamepley turorial, and nothing happens. I hear a sound clip saying "If its out there i'll find it!" What am i meant to do? Can't seem to find a manual either. Im free to move around and mess with the tutorial, and managed to move a few ships around, but isnt there like umm a tutorial telling me what to do? Very puzzled at the moment!
Any ideas on this? Its a little frustrating not being able to update my game! Ta!

In 12 games i ahve seen one ranger on my first ever game, and thats it. I never pick luck however.
The trick is to buy your first 4-6 colony ships, so you get one each turn. Once your hit about 600c stop buying them and start your usual strategy, but with a goof 6 planets already captured,
I'd love to be able to delete colonies, sometimes when ima t war and caprure a planet, i dont want the expense of running it so cant we have some planetary improvement that blows the planet up? Sometimes when its a close fight and i cant afford to defend or upgrade a planet, Scorched earth is the only way to go. Weird, same here, played a lots of Games ranging from Normal to Crippling, and the Drengin are always the first out of the game, pretty much every time. They dominate early on, but never enough to hurt any other of the civs, and by then everyone is way ahead in tech than them and they die out. Happens pretty much every game.
Heh, i gave up on the campaign with this mission. I can beat 5 opponents on Bright on any map in the normal game, but after over 10 ties on this campaign mission i gave it up lol.
Yup, group as many transports together in a fleet as you can. You will prolly have to upgrade your logistics though. They attack together that way
You make 1 factory, which cuts the build time in half to make your research labs, then you delete the factory and build your last lab.
