It would have been better to pay Carinoids to attack Drengins. I never tried that but I should have. I really like paying powerful civs to attack and putting my probes out around and watching the battles. This game plays out so different each time. How they say never the same galaxy twice, how about not even close to the same galaxy twice :)

I just finished a game, a close call it was. Had to start turning evil towards the end since Drengin was the last left. I was at war with them for a while and it was getting hard to keep up so I asked for peace and got it. Anyway, the minor race Carnoids had like an 875 military rating! They had colonized 3 or 4 systems and had everything. Put it this way, neither me nor any of the other majors wanted to attack the Carnoids. They were big time powerful for some reason this game. The Dr

Just another plus I am finding out about this game. Its incredibly easy to make new random events and anomalies! Is there a limit to how many of these you can add/make? Seems the more the better. I think this is a big plus because one can seriously add content to their game. :)

I think I got carried away with paying the Altarians to attack everybody. Bascially my initial plan was to ally with them and pay them to attack everyone, then I could get a diplomatic victory. What I failed to do was check to see if they were allied with Torians (which they were). It was Me, Torians and Altarians as last majors. I was allied with Altarians and just needed the Torians to ally so I can win. I could not figure out why I could not ally with Torians. Then I had realized af

Do some of these come up more then others? Also curious if anyone knows how many there actually are? These are all really neat and make the game even more interesting then it already is.

I heard and read (in the popular gaming mags and online reviews) alot about the AI in this game and how well it performs. Well what I am finding out is that it is certainly true! Now that I got the full version and played a few games, its obvious. Is it just me or is this possibly one of the best AIs ever created in a TBS game?

I did build a pretty good trade starbase in a sector that was along one of my routes. On it, I built three of the trade modules that increased freighter profit. It definitely made a difference and was bringing in even more money, a good amount more I need to say. I am wondering, does a trade starbase effect the departure and destination sectors too? For example, the sectors the systems are in that you are travelling too and from for the trade route? If so, say I have a trade route that

I've been around here before GalCiv was even released. How long has it been out? I still don't have it! So why haven't I bought it? Maybe I enjoy missing out on good games like this? Who knows LOL There is no excuse for this! Come on the game is only like $25 now! I have been missing out on one of the best TBS games ever. Well now is a good time to get it. I think I will spend my gift card on it and get this game already.

I don't own GalCiv yet, will get it soon though. So I can say how easy it is to modify. A can name a game which is extremely easy to modify. It is called "The War Engine" and its developed by Boku Strategy Games and published by Shrapnel Games. Anyone here heard of tyhe game before? It is the same publisher of Space Empires 4. Anyway, The War Engine is a wargame construction set and you can make anything with it. You can even change the interface and anything else using only .bmp and .txt files

I'm 33 here. Don't surprise me many players of this type of game are in the 30 range anyway. The community is the same for the Civilization series as well. Like many of you its the kind of games we all had grown up playing. I have alot of friends my age who are the same way. Anyway, I still need to get GalCiv, I should have it in a few days :)
