I went to BestBuy yesterday and looked at the Gateway 700GR. It has ATI X300 PCIe graphics, a gig of ram, 3.4GHz and 200 gig serial ata hard drive. I just noticed that I have less than a gig of hd space left out of 20. Also, WinCustomize isn't letting me upload anything. Any ideas??? Thanks for all the help. Maybe I should do someting about this white computer this winter....

I was thinking a Linux dual boot and use Linux for internet(sercurity reasons). Would it be cheaper just to get a Gateway from BestBuy???

Ya think I should build my own and put on Linux??? 98's Microsoft Disk Operating System is pretty crappy though. Not much conventional memory with it. My computer is 5 years old, and is a Gateway. My old Win 3.11 was a gateway too.

A. 2 #3: You have to have Active Desktop enabled. I don't know if it works on XP, but works for me.

"If it ain't broke why fix it?" Faster, new funcionality. Like, last time I updated mine, it supported all of my video cards 256mb ram. Before it only supported 128mb of it. It is loads faster now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mess with computers, diagnose hardware and most software(not WB) problems, and am a plain computer geek. Best of all, I do it for free! (Currently I'm getting a new hard drive for a relatives computer thats HD broke, and has had 2 screens and an HD blow (in three years!!! ).
