In my latest game there are 415 pirate ships at their pirate base. Yep. You heard me... 415. 230 are the heavy cruisers. The weakest of which have atleast 1800hp, and I think that is the siege frigate? The HC have nearly 3000hp. There are also 5 pirate fleets errant around the central star system causing a ruckus... the fleet size ranges from 50 ships to 120 ships. So there are very nearly 1,000 pirate ships floating around the whole game... the least of which has 1800hp, an
Mmmmmm...64bit...time for windows 7 methinks.
i'm runnng that and having the same problems. so what were saying here is since the game only uses 1 core that noone will be able to play with all the graphics turned up no matter what pc they have. what a joke

My buddy and i still cant get more that 10 minutes into the game before it desyncs(entrenchment and diplomacy)(we have the fastesest pc, ethernet and routers) are high end machines trying to send too much through your servers? It seems the better the machine the more desyncs. spec.. phenom 2 965, 8 gb ram, ati 4890, 1000mbps ethernet and a gaming router,,,, my buddy have the same but i7 setup and 4870x2 both on windows 7 64 bit of course we
unfortunately it would seem like too much work to simply put in the next update. but this is a pretty fricking good system for pirate activity in any war game set up
Well maybe for sins 2.. Also forgot to add that the amount asked for would be directly controlled by how powerful your empire is. this would balance it better... right now the richest person has control of the pirates and the poorest cant win the bidding making
decline as soon as you get the mission if you don't feel like doing it.
thats the problem having to get pulled from the game to decline. if missons showed up as an icon under the pirate timer it would be much easier to keep track of and to manage the ones you would like to accept and decline.the accepted ones can stay up with the timer so as to not make you open menus to see that either
either stop caring about the penelty .
not caring

I feel the current system is backwards.. you should automatically decline the mission after so much time instead of being locked into it. the current system has me constantly looking at the mission screen even when i dont want to deal with any . either that or there should be a small splash screen asking if you want the mission with the decline button. that way i can make the decision without being pulled from the action. why arent there small symbols for
How does this fix the neverending upgrade to pirates hull, damage and armor? That right there is the game breaking element. I didn't see anything talking about that. How can you miss something that huge?
true I dont think many of us were having a problem with pirates early game but thats what they fixed. I havent lost a battle to pirates in the first 5 hours of a game with the harder ones. now they are pathetic to begin with and sti
The stupid bidding system should have been changed. It was garbage in 2008 and it is still garbage in 2010...go figure! Why do I have to babysit the damn thing all the time? Its boring and very frustrating, especially when you're in the middle of a battle.
i feel the same.. the pirates should be on a random timer(4 min 5min 7 min 8 min) and demand tribute at the end of the timer(which you shouldnt be able to see.)
They nerfed pirate weapons a bit too. If the above issues are fixed, I don't have any problem with it IMO. Pirates are now great at breaking late game stalemates, and forcing an end to the game. After all, Sins is a RTS not a turn based strategy game. If you don't like them being strong, you can just turn them off or use Entrenchment. I for one would like to continue to see them be a factor late game.
i think the idea was to break late game stalemates but

A pact of the this sort would be nice.. It would also be nice to be able to surrender with only 1 planet left and be given the choice to handover your assests to an ally. The ai could do this too..(only if down to ONE planet though for both)

First i would like to say the AI offers way too many missions... As soon as i cancel one another one pops up from the same player for the same mission. There needs to be a timer so that ai wont offer yo the same mission type(structure, ship) within a certain amount of time., This makes it impossible to keep good relations at the start of any comp stomp
I dont see why bounty is still there. It should have been moved (from pirate tab to the diplomacy tab).
i meant leave the one in the pirate window AND put one in diplomacy tab the one time bounty for pirates was also to help with desyncs since it looks like sometimes the pirate indicator ends up on two players in an intense bidding war... figure this might cause some of them
