I was wondering if you knew a good place to go to read a tutorial on modeling, or texturing. I am very skilled with photoshop, so I figured learning how to create textures woulnd't be that hard for me, I just don't have the free time to search the web and read through countless forums to find little notes here and there. I haven't touched maya in about 3 years, but when I was using it I was pretty decent and doing some architecture modelin
2. Because Impulse is the replacement for Stardock Central. But the Impulse installer don't work with Linu
So I just read over at IGN that a new Expansion has been announced and all that...I just bought this game and now finding out that an expansion (which contains new factions, campaign mode, etc.) is coming out later this year. I hate it when this happens...I don't care much for story modes or whatever in these types of games, but is it possible to give out the new races via update to those who already bought regular game? (this is like so unfair, lol)
Why unfair... u
$40 or so is a bit much for a video game, especially since they drop in price over time. So when is that expected to happen with Sins?
Here, in my country, a hooker is 50 euro for 1/2 hour pleasure... a lot of game are over 50 euro and finish in a few days... with Sins, you pay only 40$, not yet 30 euro and you have pleasure for around 70 hours with a huge random map... and year of pleasure if you join the online communauty... sice the AI is not good, once you have
You're missing the point entirely. The Mac platform is rapidly expanding... according to NPD data as reported by FORTUNE while the US desktop sales declined 5% year-to-year from Feb 2007 (newest data), Macs INCREASED 55%. Similarly, notebooks increased 20% while Mac portables increased 64%. This is an expanding platform and more and more consumers are choosing to abandon the monopoly.
MAC platform is a PC like any other... my supermicro computer with two Xeon quad core, 8
Artifacts can be sold! You can sell to the highest bidder through the diplomacy screen.
Great idea... i am at my 30 hour gaming in a huge random map... have already find 7 artifact but only 3 from the 9 different... i have find one 3 time !!! Since the effect of similar artifact are not cumulative, better sold and earn some money !!!
I hope so... I asked bailknight for adopting his effects to DS, but currently i have no time for modding This College is killing me
I like your mod... but be sure that "This college" will not kill you... but the patch rate of sins... 1.04 will be out in a few day... 1.1 is already started... feel that soon, you will be the only student with gray hair at your college ;)
Not too much in the way of details, but new factions and single-player campaign are confirmed! http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/04/sins-of-a-solar.html
Bloody hell.. patch 1.04 in a few days... patch 1.1 already started... And several of the major mod have not yet have the time to make modification for the 1.03... I think that the patch rate is to much high... that some modder will give up... have used a lot of time for create a mod and needd to adap
...then convert it to something Maya can read,...
Once it is in one 3D application, it is no problem to export it to a other... simply use the Collada format ( interchange file format for interactive 3D applications )... Some info... Maybe you can already work on the texture themself... they are .dds file ( directdraw surface )... someone have created a plug-in for the free Paint.Net who import/export .dds ... take a look at http://www.dmashton.co.uk/?p
Would like to point out, you're high Thoumsin when it comes to games/apps that don't use multi-threading or SMP(google if you don't know what it is).
First, you have SMP and multi-threading who are two thing really different... and this is mainly related to the operating system... By example, Windows XP professional have a support for two physical central processing units (CPU). These support don't exist in the home edition that a LOT of people use ! Bec
Since the 28 feb, Sins is on the support list from Cedega... it mean that if enough people vote for the Sins, devs from Cedega will work hard to have Sins running with Cedega... From the last version of Cedega, DX9 is fully supported... I am using Linux but use a VM ( virtual machine ) where i run windows XP...
Yeah, I have the same problems with the pirates too.
Have install again the beta version with the quick fixes... and no more problem with the pirate... Will wait until the Patch 2, who i hope will resolve these problem... And now, i need again select individualy my fleet ship for create the fighter/bomber (:(
I also have one core cranking at 100% when sins runs, starts to lag very annoyingly later into large and huge maps.
Same problem here... always one core at 100%... process jumping from one core to the other after some time... On very huge maps ( 500 or more planet ), memory problem... more of 2 Gb used... People with Xp and 4 Gb can edit the boot.ini and add the "/3GB" switch... Win XP with 4 GB ( not really 4 Gb since some address range are used for mat
In two days, trying the mod with the "Patch", almost 50 minidump... always happen when something is related to "Pirate"... during the announce of a imminent pirate raid... if during these periode, i am attacking pirat base, of pirate ship... mini dump : why they call these "mini"? They are around 3.5Mb. Today, i have generate 139mb of minidump!!! ... if pirate attack me, same result... minidump... Before the patch, no problem with the pirate !!!
Since the "Quick Fix No. 1"... Not really a bug... but when i load a previous saved game, i can read : "You are using the distant Stars Mod. created by Uzii" Before the "Quick Fix No. 1", it was a other name for the creator of the Mod. ;)
How about a pause button for single player games? I know it may seem lazy to ask for that since you can jus save and reload, but I think it'll be more convienient.
Just hit the menu button... it pause the game... exit the menu and you can continue the game... no need to save or reload !!!
I dont think this is to do with the mod mate, personally I've always had this "delay" between clicking the "Main Menu" Button and actually having the main menu appear, this only happens in the larger games.Try waiting slightly longer (say 5-10minutes) before rebooting your computer, also check to see if you can still move your mouse around, if you can then your pc hasnt crashed.
Indirectly... yes... Simply because with the mod, a similar huge map use more me
I know some other guys were talking about it earlier, but when I went to click the Sqaudron Management button for one of my fleets, the game froze and it came up with that 'Saved MiniDump' screen before exiting.
Hmmm... i am selecting the ship of the fleet one by one for create the fighter/bomber... and no more problems after... Have around 30 hours with these mod on a huge ramdom map... In my case, only one bug who repeat always... once i wish to quit
