OMG sorry about the multiple posts. Egads! :( ~SDC~
Dearmad
This isn't fully thought out, but here: The price the AI considers worthy for a ship in trade, or the value it assigns it should be lowered the further away the ship is from any its own empire or place where a battles are occuring. The price of a DEFENDER 5 sectors away from the front is 0 compared to one only 2 Parsecs away from where the alien is fighting a battle. This formula would not apply to the human player when buying, neccesarily, as it's more a choice of how the buy
VOTING: When my Senate votes on policies, sometimes I do NOT see how the other parties vote. Just get a total with my parties vote showing in the little table at the left but no one else's. MULTIPLE WONDERS STILL: Is this because the AI doesn't switch off its building of Galaxy Wonders when they are completed by someone else? This happened at a Sub-normal AI level. Could it be that? Bug me no end and is really unfair! TRADE DURING WAR: This might not be consider

I'm glad some exploring has been done on this, because if its happening at "Genius" it's just not right. ~SDC~
Face it, scoring is an artificial art even more difficult than programming an AI- no one since the beginning (before even Civ1) has ever done it very well... they are full of artificial values that don't reflect the "experience." ~SDC~
Good solutions listed above. I keep my transports- look at it as a standing army. Gotta employ all those people somehow. I mean 100+ billion people in the empire and NO army? hm... I just try to monitor my morale as I go and look *ahead* (strategy game and all) to try to get techs and trade goods that help when I need them. I usually never have a tax lower than 20% unless something is up like an election day or something. ~SDC~
Unless you've invested in your own espionage you probably won't get a message about it... your spies are a good defense as far as I can tell. You can sometimes tell it's destabl. when you go to the planet details screen and up the propoganda setting and yur approval rating goes WAY up instead of only a little bit. ~SDC~
I think only the Frogboy official ones will be included- when they are they should remove them from the library... ~SDC~
You have a bug IF you have the sector color filter ON for the mini-map... ~SDC~
EXPLOIT COULD BE FIXED: DURING a war w/the Drengin I could sell him a bunch of scouts then attack them outside my stars and gain experience from the target shooting... sorta silly. ~SDC~
Oh one other odd note: DURING a war w/the Drengin I could sell him a bunch of scouts then attack them outside my stars and gain experience from the target shooting... sorta silly. ~SDC~
Three words: (er maybe two) "Supply side economics": export crap to them on long leases with low low payments... Steadily up you production bar and keep churning out the worthless toasters (scouts, spy satelite thingies, etc...) to sell to them (or techs). ~SDC~
Attack the worthless bastard. ~SDC~
I find constructor ships very cheap to build by midgame. usually my production planet is churning them out in about 2 turns, that's nothing. Maybe it's jsut different ways of looking at the strategies... I'll up the AI a notch and see what goes on. :) ~SDC~
Is this a stupid idea: Research Captial: research is doubled. ~SDC~
What diff. level? The magic bullet I've noticed is morale andp lanet quality... but also aphrodisiacs, and other things. ~SDC~
Yeah, his experience sounds anomolous. ~SDC~
It sounds like you all just win and win big (1000+ pt. games), so when do you LOSE!? Does the AI do supply side economics at any level, and export tech's like we do at all? or does it export scouts to other AI's like I do, or anything? Does it ever focus on building a CULTURE terrorstar like you do? C'mon, report on the SMART things it does here, or is this all still stuff that will need to be worked on in the future via the metaverse? Just wanna know! <
So I can watch where their ships are moving and the battles they fight and understand them better. As it is, it all moves by too fast for me on larger maps- can't orient myself to where things are occuring. ~SDC~
Huh, have to look at it again in the light of day here... maybe it'll grow on me. :notsure: ~SDC~
BRAD: The AI at higher levels will stop me from building Bases in my *own* sectors preemptively? By the time the second base is up granting +300% production and +8 a/d, etc.. wouldn't it be a little too late to go trying to attack my ships in that sector with his unsupported ships- his economy better be about 5x mine. Ok, I'll trust you're right at higher AI levels... (glad you're giving us all a year's learning curve to support and change the game!) but I wish the beta testers had di
Hm, I've had it take out Constructors as targets of opportunity at subnormal, and not run into the problem you've encountered. ~SDC~
I hope so! I'm glad this game is so "alive" with a year of support from stardock, and, knowing Brad, probably more. :D :D
