i build trade centers as anti-pirate defences. basically , the tradeship are designed as free decoys , inoder for exp gain or just to gain invulnerablily to a pirates. try to setup a systemw ehre tradeships go thorugh the pirate base and you be invulnerable to pirates. as it is , pirates are decent strogn . any more and id be pssed. any less and i wouldnt have be persuaded to place bounty , its perfect. stop being a noob an dstart plaing mp.

your all idiots. all of you the infinite model has nothing to do with anything. if it wasnt infinite it stil wouldnt effect gameplay you *edited*. stupid u suggesting reinferinties that will replace the problem duh!? noobs. the biggest problem with sins , is the whole idea that theres nothing to do with ships other then steamroll , and because of this , people are so damn reliant on just having economy or fleet advantage. The whole idea of micro is disrgarded yet micro is th
Well, Derek and myself (BetaAlpha) had no problems raiding one of P5yy's colonies last night
LMAO you call that raiding? A combined steamroll fleet from two players, approx 1000 fleet points - aka 60 minutes of built-up fleet . Thats not raiding. Thats steamrolling. stop confusing yourself . An

Raiding , is a fleet objective to damage an enemies economy through the destruction of resource structures whilst avoiding confrontation with enemy fleets, using a small fast specialised group often engaging with the help of distraction and opportunistic timing., A successful raid will damage the economy more then the losses of the ships. A unsuccessful raid will damage their economy but the cost of your lost raiders hurts more. How is raiding now?...(non-exisitent)

I think the infinite economy has only a partial say in the whole small empire v large empire debate. imo the problem lies with fleet cap. Large empire has 500 , small empire has 250 (and cant make more) and both sides have good economies. Theres nothing the small empire can do. It used to be in space RTS games - the person with the largest fleet is the person who has killed more of the oppositions fleet. This is completely untrue in the medium-large games in Sins , as

Ok remember how caps were part of the research tree and people were going rabble rabble at this with various arguments about where Caps should be on the tech tree. THen IC decided to make caps available from start with a progressive tech tree to increase cap fleet , and everyones like wow...cool this works pretty well. Well i think phase tech with all the rabble rabble about it being too high for mp games , but being too superpowerful for low tech ,mirrors this problem. So I t

Make gate phasejumping cost money/crystals that gets cheaper , so that it can be lower in the tech tree and at the same time not imbalance the game. maybe at tech 2 it might cost the same as buying a new capship to send a capship , tho at higher tiers it gets cheaper to maybe "free" at tier 15 or whatever .

When I want to turn a cobalt 180deg ,im often puzzled as to why it needs almost a third of the grav well just to turn. An example is when your cobalt is out of guass range , and you want to retreat away from it , but you end up moving into it. Its daft. If you have played EaW , the correlian corvettes had a nice turn rate without looking unrealistic. Im just wondering why is it like this? and can we have better movement please?

Basically , I think schod wants a "skilled" race for experts that noobs wont be able to handle because they only know how to steamroll but experts will excel at because they can use their "skills" to maximise the Vasaris full potential. , just jkin , but I might be right

I think this thread touches on one minor problem with Sins. If you are looking to build a fleet of 30 ships. You are going to have to keep going back and forth queuing up ships when the money rolls in. Potentially back and forth 15 times. If you wait for enough money to queue all 30 ships at once, you then have to wait for the 30 ships to be built which is wasted time. This problem is Minor in Sins because we have alot of spare time to do it. Having such a model in supcom which
P5y, the problem with your statement is that both game types aren't going to happen, because its too late to try to add them. Implementing either of them isn't likely to happen because -- as has been pointed out -- there just isn't time to add new features. What I don't get is the difference you're seeing...
*whispers* my idea doesnt need special implementation ,players can enforce the rules themselves and just use the rules in a normal game. <img

Great idea , makes you really think hard about whether someone is worthwhile allying with , rather then just allying with someone so you can see their defences and just kill them when they are not looking.
