It's a 56K US Robotics faxmodem I had one of those about 10 years ago. It's hard to even think about going back to dial-up after cable. Plus, for me it would cost $35 per month for the phone line. It would hardly be worth it.

I'm a credit card user. I like the convenience and I pay off the bill every month. My only problem has been that I occasionally (once every three years or so) forget to pay the bill and get the dreaded late fee. My first husband had the cards maxed. They don't hesitate to give you an over the limit fee when you're late fee puts you over the limit!!!!<!--

Thanks, So you're saying that in some states adoption is not equal? I guess I don't know the background on the case in question. was the child adopted by the non-bio? How would an amendment fix this? Isn't it really about the courts and how a state (vermont) could think it would have jurisdiction? How would the amendment fix this part?

And that is also not true, as that does vary by state as well. Will you tell me more about this? I'm interested, did the non-biological parent adopt the child? How does this work? Tell me about other states. THANKS!

I know that the issue here is about courts - state versus federal - but how is this different than any other custody argument? A non-biological "parent" doesn't have rights whether they are male or female, same sex or not.

There are dozens of spirited conversations going on at the moment, new threads being posted by the minute, and a wide variety of topics to choose from. Thanks LW. I'll hang around and keep looking.

And there was a point where the community was larger and more diverse, but a lot of people have been driven off over time, part due to their own inability to handle taunting well, and part because this site has become fairly unfriendly/negative and for many it's becoming rather not-fun to blog here. I'm married. Been married for three years now. This is my second. The first one didn't work out due to the usual financial issues. I said I'd never get divorced, but the guy lost it when his mom died and I came home one day to find $25k in cc debt. Surprise, Surprise! How about you?

What's truly pathetic is that you would spend so much time studying what you claim to be pathetic. So what am I to form my opinons on if I don't study the issues? Studying to understand is pathetic? BTW, I posted to you on my bunny thread

You don't have to read it you know. You're right. I won't! It just seems that it's pathetic that it's the only thing going on here. It's like the news. Good news is not news.

there's conflict everywhere Coflict, opinions, debating - those are all one thing. [ quote]Sometimes things break down and end up looking like a bunch of dramatic teenagers. I think you're being generous. It sounds more like "She's touching me - He's touching me" 8yo immaturity.<BR

I'm new to JU and I'm not liking what I see. What's all the fighting about? What's going on here people? What's the point? I've spent a couple of hours trying to figure it out and I'm giving up. I walked away from a dysfuncitonal family more than four years ago. I think I found you "guys" again. It's all so petty and pathetic. Boohooo!!!!<!-- Ju-Anchor-Foot
