Thanks to Steam and Impulse (mostly Steam, sorry Stardock I like their community features more ATM [I am rooting for you guys though, really]), I have a mountain of PC game boxed that I'll never have to deal with. No more sliding boxes out hoping I don't knock the whole tetris style tower down.. Basically Digital distribution, done right, is a godsend to PC gaming. It's more convenient than pirating on good services like Steam and Impulse, keeps your games up to d

I'm glad you like it. I really just don't think it's a style of combat that interests me.
I'm curious what redeeming qua

At the worst, there might be some Diggs that no longer qualify under the new rules, but I submitted them before they were in place, and as Kyro said, they are still in the process of removing them. Sorry I posted a bit off topic, thanks for the help though guys. This map looks really interesting, and is one of the many reasons I decided to upgrade. I just look at this map and see all of the potential in there. I wonder will I run into these ruins of an epic battle between mages. Where do the dragons lay? Basically I just can't wait to see how this map, and the book, and single player all tie together.
There should be an option under the pre-order button on the main page for upgrading from normal to limited edition.
Thanks! I should've checked first but I guess I thought it'd be more complicated than that.

I was curious if anyone knew if there was a any way to change our pre-order from standard download only to limited edition if I paid the difference. I may end up buying a second copy, but I just thought I'd ask if this was possible since it's a pre-order and the game isn't out yet.

I'd like to know how ME1 and ME2 resemble anything like Star Trek, let alone more than STO. Oh I see that was hyberbole.

Global warming is a misnomer that most climatologists will not use anymore. Climate change is real though, and human cause climate change has more facts behind it than not. Even if we suppose climate change isn't being caused mostly by our actions, it does not mean we should continue to pollute our environment. Cutting CO2 emissions, and creating cleaner energy, will have many more ecological impacts besides just climate change. It's just that cli

I have to say that so far the intro has been my favorite part of the game. I just started, but I watched it a few times already just because I love it so much. Please keep it! More as beta progresses would be great too, but please keep them for final as some easter egg, or maybe an unlockable at least.

As there isn't time to do it for Entrenchment and as this pertains more to the theme of the 2nd expansion we'll take another look then at how it might be done. The process isn't as simple as it would seem but I can understand the value.
I REALLY think the next expansion should also allow people to autodownload custom maps while you're in the lobby. A proper ladder system or experience system would work better. In Ladder, any disconnected game counts as a loss, with NO exp. I propose instead of tracking wins/losses, have a few EXP algorithms that determines an EXP gain depending on how good you are vs your opponents (according to their EXP). ANd the only way to actually gain EXP is to stay in the game, and even if you lose you gain exp but just not as much. This would encourage people to play

Hey guys this game is looking good. I think I'm about to pre-order it, and Elemental. I'd comment more on the changes made but I can't. If I pre-order now is there a chance I can get in Beta2d? If not I'll wait for Beta3 :)

Vas has been my favorite race since launch, and I think it is kind of OP. Are there any balances with the other super weapons though>

25 Replies 34,698 Views

If that's the case then they need to make an option to turn off super weapons :P I guess I didn't know that though, because most games I play don't come to super weapons. However I would imagine a larger game would come to that.

Here are some ideas I just thought of: 1) Rare trade goods like you have in Civ that are randomly placed and are either in space or found through planet exploration (give people another reason to hit that upgrade). Then in the diplomacy screen give them the option to trade these goods with allies for extra cred/resources. 2) Capital buildings. Kind of like the "manufacturing capital" and other similar buildings in GalCiv. You can only build one of

You have to keep in mind that they've done a lot of rebalancing on some of the issues you've talked about since launch (and well after the review versions). The Vasari jump gates only work in systems they already control so you can't jump right in to someone's system. If mines are laid out correctly they are extremely useful in making it a pain for large fleets to move. If they are set right you can turn what would be a massive loss into a victory if someone loses half their fleet to a well p

The Vasari have a moving starbase as one of its strengths. The TEC and Advent get powerful torpedo cruisers as one of their strengths. Their starbases also have abilities that play to their strengths like production, self-destruct, etc. Even if you play as Vasari anyways, if you place a starbase strategically, as well as structures and mines, it doesn't really matter too much if it moves. The only place Vasari will have an advantage is sectors wit
