And we still don't know how they go the bathroom to relieve themselves.

Reinhart, did you read what i said before you quote me, i said Kyro/Yarlen said that it might or might not be that an expansion might not be out at least Feb of next year, so it takes a while for an expansion to get developed. So it is not unreasonable that the devs might make an announcement, but it is just a matter of when. I am asking when that announcement might be. I do not think i am being demanding. If i said "i would like to see the expansion to be out come next feburary" and start ma
Look..i am sorry if this thread has caused some replies that are more or less can be come across as uncouth. Before HL2 came out, the devs at Valve told PC Gamer in an interview that they were planning a HL3, that was way before it even came out. I think Kyro/Yarlen told us that we MIGHT (not for certain) that the expansion release date will probably be Feb of 2009. Hence i am expecting something to be tentatively on the drawing board from the devs and schedules for different milestones to be
An AI that can back stabbed. That is one awesome AI. So now, we can make computer AI into HAL, next, it might even start to develop a conscience. :D
it felt like an eternity already since the game has already been released. And i am only asking for a plausible date for when a paid expansion will be at the works. I am not asking something written in stones.
I would like to ask the devs, when can we expect that an announcement for an upcoming Sins expansion, i.e. when can we expect announcement than beginning of beta testing phase. Thanks
I like the cute comparisons, marko Kart is loads of fun regardless of which version you play on.
I was noticing that with new RTS coming out, and a few more 4x TBS games coming out, with supported multiplayer incluing Sins, there has been a lot of talks of games being need to be "balanced" Call me naive or some of us who really never have issues with mulitplayer experiences naive. So just what is this elusive concept call "balance" I will give examples. In the most simplest of all games between 2 players, Chess is balanced period. Another example where you mig
I think to make a game balance for multiplayer, you have to turn the game into some kind of RTS chess like in starcraft. You guys can correct me if i am wrong, but around 8/9 years ago, when i was told about starcraft's AI being balanced because Blizzard patched it like 14 times, well...i was told that was for the purpose of mulitplayer. Because in single player, regardless of which patch you applied, it would still be too easy for any experienced player. I think Sins is going to be end up i
okay...just out of curiosity, when and after starcraft 2 coes out, how many of you will give up playing Sins of a Solar Empire/Galciv2 Twilight of the Arnor/Spore so that all you folks can get addicted by Blizzard's new addictive game playing drug. The way everyone is debating about strategy about Sins, the strategic aspect is feeling to be as complex as starcraft...if only SD and IC will patch the AI to version 1.14/1.15 come end of the year.
The trailer for SotS was good, but when i played the demo version, the game froze on me as i expand my empire. I encountered the same problem for the full game, in between turns, my comp simply locked up. I have a dual core laptop running the game.
What do you guys mean by download only. You mean it will not be released out on retail. I buy all my stardock games via retail. Please, please, tell me you guys will be releasing via the retail outlet store like EB games channel sometime.
well..the west always wants democracy and with it capitalism. when there is capitalism, there will bound to be greed and hence "sin" the idea of free trade is not exactly free, depending on how one looks at it, the consequences can have some very superstitious consequences. And like Nietzsche said, mankind killed God, and He will be killed again and again each century regardless how many times He gets resurrected. In His Name, how many missery and violence have people stirred. It would be
also, make sure your research for turrent defense fire power is at the highest level. Takes out the smaller ship much faster if you tag team them with more than 2 turrents. Seige frigates will become a piece of cake. And whatever you do, take out the seige frigates first. The AI will have less incentives to pummel your planet/defense further after the seige crafts are gone.
Hi hi I would like to know when will TA be released and also, when can i expect to be able to order it via EB games. Thanks
well in lost empire, you get a max of 5000 stars per galaxy=5000 planets. I guess we can have the same thing too for Galciv 2. Awesome. And Thanks for the reply. I actually PMed Brad about my question. I appreciate the info either way. :)
there is also another thing i forgot to mention, i don't think Blizzard has any intentions of just forcusing on strategy rather than tactics for SC2, from what i have read from various previews and also interviews from their devs, SC2 will not be like Sup Com where you can zoom out all the way and can simulataneously control 3000+ units. I always think SC1 plays like chess after they patched the AI 20 times or so. For every unit there will always be a unit countering. One thing that annoyed m
there was something interesting in the march issue of PC Gamer where it reviwed UT3, right off the bat, the reviewer said something like, why do people buy this year's latest and newest BMW when it is not really that much different from that of last year with a minor additons of bells and whistles. But then, people still do because they want to own the most up to date model for the sake of having it. Well..you can view it as, people don't like change that much or it is hard for them to get use
But the copy protection scheme for non gaming software are not as anal as the pc gaming industry, so how did the pc gaming industry got the anal bug in the first place???
For the Map editor in TA, is there limitation to how large a galaxy one can create in terms of number of stars and planets. Thanks
I was wondering if anyone can refer me to some references on the issues of DRM and game copy protection. How did it began, and what motivated it. I know that there have been various articles posted on this forums regarding pc gaming piracy. The thing is i used to play pc games, but then for a few years, with school going on and stuff, i stopped playing it. Then when i finally got back into it, i noticed that there were more more stringent copy protection mechanisms that
I don't know why people pirate games anymore, games are getting bigger and bigger in disc space, and it takes forever to download them. And turning your comp into a torrent downloading machine is not healthy for your comp. I would rather buy the game that i really want instead of downloading them. Supereme commander is like 8 gigs, in a few years, games can be as large as 20 gigs.
I have a question..when did this whole copy protection come up, i mean as in requiring cd checks and what not in order to play a game on a pc. In my previous post, i did not ask this question, when i made the comparison between commercial software and entertainment software like games. Do the commercial software sector has as much problems with software piracy in comparison with gaming software??? I think it is pretty clear that regardless of what copy protection are in place inside a
I was thinking about software piracy last night and how SD's model of no cd required to play the game. I really think that it is a better model. For all of commercial (non game) software, one never requires a cd to be presence in order to use it after it has been installed. But then there is one other thing that i was thinking about, that is iteration of many of the same titles over and over again. Take word processing as an example, majority of the people uses MS word, yes there are
"You can't really say that coz you're talking of the SC campaign, not the skirmish, which would be a better unit for comparison." But Sins do not have a campaign mode, and SC does, and i think until Sins have a campagin mode, it is not really fair to compare the two. Because it is simply not fair to just evaluate SC based on its multiplayer mode, even though it does have some sort of skirmish mode from what i remember. I might be wrong since i have not played SC for such a long time.
