It seems to me that if you manually fight a battle in the tactical map and kill 1/2 the enemy units, then hit auto run the battle, you only get credit for the units killed with the auto run.

I have been watching the memory usage of the application as I play. It gets unstable and prone to crashing at around 1 GB of RAM allocated. With the large 8 faction maps trouble starts around turn 250. At around turn 350 there is just so much RAM allocated that even a fresh load from a save ( I assume no issues from memory leaks at a fresh start of the application ) will put the RAM at close to 1GB which means the game starts crashing every few turns and is not playable. A possible sy

Ok. it is 2/3/2011 now. Where is this patch? [e digicons] Been playing the game a lot despite the OOM errors. Would like to actually finish a skirmish game sometime.

Still get these OOM errors after an autosave. Some thing is still broken. http://pastebin.com/6UgFZzKF This is just one of a constant number of these cropping up at random.

I have been getting these out of memory crashes frequently. I like the first part of the game, but I would really like to finish a game sometime. It seems to be related to the autosave feature. Going to dig around and see about uploading. Kind of strage, I decided to remove X3 from my system since it was taking up so much space and I was not playing it. When I did so, one of the problems I was having went away. Basically it was taking several minutes to shut down my computer every time. I could not figure out the reason. After removing X3, my computer now shuts down within seconds. Something wierd going on with Starforce?

Just a question, any one here have an advance copy of Vista? Not asking about pirating, just curious to see what copy protected games will work with Vista. I would like to know in advance if upgrading to Vista will require a total rework of the DRM used in games and which if any games will fail. I doubt very much if Gal Civ II will have any problems.

Galactic Civilizations 2 is a truly BAD game. It has take up so much of my time I am hardly getting any sleep! Just about everything I ever wanted to see in a space strategy game is in it. As for DRM, I usually download cracked exe's for all the copy protected games I buy. I hate having a CD in a drive just so I can play a game. I think there should be a law that says what DRM comes with a game on the front of the box. That way if it is one of the ones I detest I can opt not to buy the game. <b
