Nah msconfig isn't the best tool, because when you reboot it shows you a dialog and will start that utility everytime windows starts. If you check dont show again it re-enables that! OMG nice one MS. Start > Run > Regedit > navigate to My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Find the entry you want then double click - a path should now be highlighted. Put a semicolon in front of it. Then close the regis

although, you may find you want a dvd drive in the future and they're really cheap. Just a thought that you might aswell buy one. I found an internal ide drive that reads dvds for only £18!!!
Is StyleXP a "reasonable" alternative to windowblinds??? And another thing to note, windowblinds hasnt added itself into control panel's display settings. Just noticed
OK cheers I'll try that EDIT: No, that doesn't work either!
I'm moving to Mac soon and this is one of the reasons why. I just can't be bothered with all the crap that comes with windows. I mean I build a computer and Windows XP Home costs me £180. After paying all that and after a happy 6/7 months something overwrites svchost.exe and services.exe so I decide to format. I haven't changed my hardware, I don't have it on any other computers, and I've only taken the CD out of the box once. I had to ring K
Have you tried renaming the file back to zip? Maybe you have but I didn't see it mentioned in me scrollin
glad to hear you sorted your problem out (kinda ) But, although I'm not a mod or whatever, It probably would have been a good idea to post in your original topic rather than start a new one.
On a side note, I'd like to ask another question. Is it possible to make animated icons for object dock (e.g a recycle bin that when emptied turns over and all the stuff flys out the bottom of the screen?)
No way, not after having to speak to the lovely Kamir at Microsoft Support because my product key wouldn't go through. And having to reinstall all my stuff again, no.
No, unfortuneately that doesn't work. I suppose I could use object bar and make another taskbar which I can skin but I never seem very good at that! Any more ideas guys?
OK Thanks I'll try that but I'm skeptical. Anyways I'll get back to you with my results!
I have Xp home but i meant luna as in the general look of the windows and start bar not themes sorry. It must be WB. Anyone have more on this?
Hi! I had WindowBlinds 4 Enhanced on my PC before and it worked no problem at all. I formatted and reinstalled windowblinds because I wanted to get rid of that awful luna. *Any* skin I try always does the same thing: Skin works fine except it sets the taskbar and start menu to windows classic and doesn't skin it. Giving me a great looking skin except for the start bar, which is *very* disappointing, especially using the enhanced version. Help!
Hi guys! I'm customizing windows to look like mac panther until i get my fab new ibook!! Those of you who are more knowledgable on apple computers may know that the control key is replaced by command, the alt replaced by option and the winkey replaced by the apple key i think. On my winxp menus it says stuff like Ctrl+D and such. My question is, is there a fairly easy way to change it to display the command symbol like on a mac?
Are you talking about Microsoft Bob? I tried googling Bob 2004 but it doesnt come up with programs. What program are you discussing here?
i think the bootskinning problem is just one of windows' limitations. as for pocketblinds, i can't help you there.
i use this adaware and spybot its the only way to get proper protection. But adaware comes in first then microsoft then spybot i would say
i'd like to see that os replacement xixao3d sounds interesting
Hi guys. I am just making this topic to hear your opinions on Graphics Programs like Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. I'm sure many of you use these. I use a program called Picture It! (a Microsoft program ) It's ok i guess but I was wondering what your opinions are on these image editing programs. I find that Picture It! uses much memory on both my systems
I don't know if anyone has said this already but in England iLife '05 come free with all macs and if you have panther you can upgrade to tiger for only £12. I just wish i could afford one
it would have to be Mac OS X Panther for me by Xero. I just love the look of the mac os and zero has included sounds that make it sound like youre using a mac mouse. But Window Blinds will be un-installed when I get me iBook!
yeah sounds like a good idea
check the microfilters I know it sounds stupid but they are cheaply made and 3 of mine have gone wrong preventing me from accessing the internet
