I have just made a tweak to the match making system to try and limit the chances of getting in a 2v1 match. But its not entirely possible where it could happen based on skill levels.
Much appreciated! I hope the doubters read this and realize that GPG and Stardock REALLY ARE trying to whip this game into shape. Jorune
Yeah I just finished a 2v1 10k dominate map on crucible. Worst matchup on the worst game type on my least favorite map..Luckily I was on the winning team and got 210 favor but who cares when favor is broken? If a player drops, then they MUST get replaced with a hard AI at the very least.
that's the thing, no player was dropped. It set the game up as a 2vs1. in another thread I just found, it app

I just got into a game with THREE players. That's right, THREE. Two Rooks vs. Erebus. Well, Erebus didn't win. No AI for the gimped player. How is this EVEN possible. I give credit to the Erebus player. He stuck it out all the way through. He told me that it was happening to him ALL night. I felt bad for the guy. All he got was 10 favor points to show for it. I heard the matchmaking was f-ed up, but I thought they meant connection problems. I didn't know they meant THIS kind of proble

No doubt Demigod is a GOOD game. First game to get me to play online ALL the time. But since I play on my laptop, I'm mobile. And I don't always have the inetrnet. Combined with a flakey MP experience, when a player drops I've got an AI teammate. Or should I say, when a player drops, its game over. What happened to the AI. I know its a GPG game, but I thought with you on board, we'd have a good AI to go along with it (like you did for SINS). On Hard level, the enemy AI is tougher, whi
What's REALLY funny is how much people seem to have NO PROBLEM with a crappy AI. Let's not belittle a good SP AI. I'd rather people learn how to play in SP than have a noob on my team in MP. Also, there are times I want to play, but cannot get online. And for the MP snobs, what do

Not saying you won't use any R&D, but I believe this game has a huge potential to stand above the crowd. And yes, I know this is only a blueprint concept.
Totally agree. I love the game and consider it my game of the year. Too early in the season you say?? What about SC2?? This is the FIRST game that has me playing online consistently. I was a single player only kind of guy, but now I'm hooked. You don't forget the gateway game that did that (btw, mid-thirties, playing on the pc since mid twenties). That said, I do feel for those with connectivity issues, of which none do I have. So I have no idea what the experience is like from your end, and would p

I buy the second cheapest helmet (forgot the name) that regenerates 35 mana a second. Or at least thats what it says. I've timed it, and I'm not getting 35 a second as far as I can tell. More like half that if even. Was it something changed that didn't make it into the item notes? It seems it takes more like 3 seconds to recoup 35. Jorune

We still do free updates to Galactic Civilizations II. We don't look at our games as a product alone. We look at them as a service. ... Once we do that, we can start to talk about things peopel would like to see. New items, balance changes, new features, and so on.
<
I bought this game, and I'm honestly regretting it right now. I enjoy the points in time where I'm actually able to play, but that has included single player, and exactly zero multiplayer games in ~2 hours of trying. The fact that Stardock is taking full responsibility for botching the release is, to be fair, pretty much owning up to the fact that they DO deserve what they're getting.
I am starting my

Hey all- I've Dl'ed the game (preordered in Sept.), and decided to look at the manaul to get the full scoop on things and I can't find one. I've checked all the folders I would've thought to check in and nada. even the readme states that it contains info not seen in the manual. jorune

Yeah, I wanted a campaign to fill me in on the background story of SoaSE, and I for one DON'T mind a scripted campaign. That said, hear what Soren Johnson (lead dude on Civ IV and programmer on Spore) has to say about unscripted campaigns and other things ... http://www.designer-notes.com/?p=106 . He specifically mentions SoaSE. Jorune<
Personally I think that the lack of a campaign was a high point for me. With just a small overall universe desription the player is able to essentially craft his own story towards galactic domination. I love playing as the TEC and naming my home planet earth and playing against hard AI's and defending earth to the end. The game has depth enough for me. Military, economy, cultural. There are many ways to win and wa

I can't edit my above post, but le tme clarify this statement: I find myself frantically clicking something non-stop when I am playing, ships go here, you build this, let me research this tech, etc. For me, its faster than what I am used to from playing a 4x turn-based game, and yet slower than a traditional RTS (like CnC 3, you have immdediate combat, usually a single base, but maybe two and a map that is lot more condensed than SoaSE). What i mean here is that in CnC3, a ski

Count me with the disappointed. I played it on release day and enjoyed it. Than put it on the back burner. Came back this week cause a friend bought it and I've been playing single player, but I realized something was missing. I realized it was a lack of narrative. Now, alot of people MAY not know what I mean by this, but there have been threads on this in other gaming forums. Narrative is when, like in a game of Civ IV, you have wars, than times of peace, than war again. Th

In the latest issue of Games for Windows magazine, as soon as you peel back the cover, we have a nice two page advertisement for the game. The magazine was home delivered yesterday, very good timing for the game. At the back of the magazine, Microsoft gets a few pages for advertisement purposes that is used to highlight games that they feel pushes forth the Games for Windows initiative. They highlight Conflict: Denied Ops (two page spread) and SoaSE (two page spread). They give it the
