It depends on how you play. It also depends on how long you want to play. A tech victory is easy once you killed most of everyone, but it takes time after that point. Killing that last planet would be quicker.

Or you could use two separate attacks, first one with Tidal/Gas. You want to NOT take over the system with this first attack. It softens the defense with the extra attacks, but since you did not actually take the planet, there will be no penalties. Then attack normally.

There are times when I am playing, things are going ok, I save and then come back to it. Instead of having the Altarians still Warm in terms of their relationship to me, they immediately declare war. What gives? If I want to not have war I have to go back to the next recently saved position. It seems to be a glitch that favors those who play for hours at a time.

I have old version of Galciv I (ver 1.021) installed on my laptop that I use when I am away from home. After finishing a Painful game (Mil Victory) that really was painful :) I hooked the laptop to the Internet to add my score. It said that my score was 2400 or so. I thought that was odd, that maybe the real score was 24000 and the last zero was truncated. When I looked at my metaverse score, it was 642! WTF?!?!?!? Well this brought down my ranking. Did using the older version do

Things may happen in the game as a result of UP decision (transports get attack values), Random Events (Fundamentalists) or Luck (Lucky Ranger early on in the game) that make the game much easier to win. As long as I still win after 2190, will such good things affect my score? Also, are there any players still playing GalCiv I (not AP) that are in the top 100 plaayers? It seems like most people in the top 100 got their games in AP/are no longer playing....
