The ironic part about all this is that you are defending one corperation while castigating another. McDonalds is a huge corporation, that is true, but so is the Cleveland Clinic and the good surgeon also. I've often wondered how some of these multi-gazillionaire surgeons feel driving their Lexuses (or is it "Lexi"?) and living in their mansions while their patients' families are holding fund-raisers and bake sales to help cover their fees. ;

My congratulations to her doctor. Afterall, when you look at any sculpture it is the artist who deserves the accolades, since the piece itself did nothing to deserve any.

I agree, single issue is nothing more than single minded. The "one issue" thing came up for me a lot in this election also. Living in a "red state" (Wisconsin), you can well imagine that most my friends are democrats. When we would talk politics a lot of them wondered how I could back Prs. Bush. They figured that since I am a war vet, I would automatically feel a kinship with the war vet on the ballot. I just looked at them and sai

Its in Drudge so it must be true. However, from what you post here, it doesn't say that it reflected in the way they reported. Neither does the article linked, so perhaps the only one manipulating the facts is...you. Ooh maybe the fact that every major news outlet made no secets about who they wanted in

And how in the world of common sense can one justify two senators in several states having but one congressional district? This is one of my favorite questions about how our government works. It is also the best example of how our civics and other U.S. Government teachers are failing our young (and hav

Imagine what would happen if politicians (at any level of government) announced to their constituents that the absolute best defense against any security threat is we all need to wake up and pay more attention to what we are doing. Any politician who tried it should make sure they have their resume in order because I doubt they would survive the next election cycle. The sad fact is, no Dept. of Homeland Security or even IT guy at wor

Let's see, I'm a White, Republican, Christian, Army NG Retired, heterosexual, of completely British Descent..... and I voted for Prs. Bush. I'M SUCH A STEREOTYPE!!!!! ;~D

Isnt' it ironic that the press seems to think they are what fuels the thoughts and opinions of Americans, but when we don't fall for their manipulations, they call us Rednecks, and uneducated and unenlightened. Apparently their idea of a "sheep" is anyone who doesn't look to them as a sheepherder. ;~D

"You know that sensation when you're cooking someting in the oven, and you open it to check on it, and the wave of heat makes your face feel all dry and tight and your eyebrows crinkle?" That was exactly my thoughts as the C-5 ramp opened up back in 1990. Another thought was Matthew Broderic in Biloxi Blues saying, "I don't think I can stay here if it's going to be this hot!' Your description of the cold brought be back also, when

I for one, would love to see a great send up of Rush Limbaugh. As I have said in my blog, Parody & Satire should know no bounds. On the other hand, if your going to do a parody of someone, at least make sure the talent is there to do it well. Look at the 2000 presidential candidate sketches for example, those were done so well that I often see quotes from them attributed as things Bush and Gore actually said (lol). There was a time that SNL set the

Amy Lee definitely has one of the freshest, most powerful voices since Pat Benatar. While I fall in with the "overplayed" crowd, that is the nature of the RIAA beast, not the fault of this great band.

I agree, TSO is Awesome!!! I just wish Jon Oliva's brother Criss could have lived to add his guitar to the mix. Savatage was really good metal, but who woulda thunk it would have been mixed with other talent and brought us this great christmas music!! ;~D

I agree with you on Monopoly (always one of my favorites), most people complain about its playing time, but complain even louder if they can't do all the "house rules" that do nothing but make the game longer. Risk is also great, and once again, if you stick with the official rules, shouldn't take half a day to play. Great calls!!

I would settle for a decent parody of Rush Limbaugh. SNL has done hilarious send ups of presidents, candidates and celebrities throughout their long run; most of them have been amazingly close charicatures. When it comes to some though, they seem to settle for the pathetic. They have never done a decent send up of Rush Limbaugh. Apparently to them, all they have to show is a fat guy in a belly warmer tie. There are some who explain SNL a

Hilarious Creed!!!!! Right up there with "Murphy's Laws of Combat!!! I remember thinking that SPC was the ultimate rank for those who weren't "lifers". In most cases you don't have to do all the "private" stuff anymore, but you also don't have the accountability or responsibility of the NCO or Commissioned Officers. This "creed" sums it up very well!!!

RIngwinger, Great Article!!! At a time when it seems stylish to hang out the U.S. dirty laundry, it is nice to read reminders of the good we as a nation have done. nice post and all, i like the patriotism, but ur forgetting that we never won Nam', and that to this day the two koreas and china are technically at a stands

So be happy, the universe has always existed and will always exist in some form or another No matter what belief you have, big bang started the universe or God did, you still have the chicken and the egg. If God created the universe, who created God? So John, what is the difference between

I've notice that the Big Mac seems smaller too. Could it be that with all those "butterburgers", "thickburgers" and Big Macs it is more than our "expectations" that are getting larger?? ;~D btw, I love them Culver's "butterburgers" too!!!
