Sorry to here about that. It is always hard when a significant part of your past is closed off in a way in which you can never return to it. I guess it could be alikened to selling a house and knowing that you can never return to roam its rooms. You still have all the memories, both good and bad, but can never touch and feel that past anymore.

It is only us Americans who expect the trains to be on time and so we get to the station 15 minutes early and then wait an hour! Amanda doesn't care for train rides too much, they're okay for me. Our best train ride was when we went with two of our friends to Florence during the day. The train tracks rain right next to the coast nearly the whole way, it was beautiful! We usually take night trains so we don't waste the day traveling. Yeah, Hawaii and Italy sound oddly similar in many ways! It will be hard to go back to the states and a time driven society. <i

Well, as far as a sports fan, I don't really have any superstitions. However, when I played basketball and football in high school, I always wore a knee brace on my right knee. I tore my meniscus disc my sophomore year and after that I always wore the brace, both in basketball and football. I don't know if it was so much as a superstition or just fear!
