I don't think I can ever know how many true friends I have until the end of my life. There are people I've been very close to and now we've drifted apart. There are one or two that I am very close to now but I don't know if things will change. I am grateful for all of them, for when they were or are a part of my life, they have made it better.

I am ok you are ok. Case closed. And don't argue with me because i am always right. I don't like to argue. I don't like political debates or religious debates. (But if I do argue I won't stop until I get the last word. I like listening to different points of views. However, I hate people who say things thoughtlessly

Annoying people. There's always some frantic whispering going on in some of the cubicles in my office too. It's why I prefer to stay in the lab. You know they are talking about you when you walk by and they stop abruptly, shuffling paper about, making it look like they are discussing about work. pfft.

>> I would like to see a day when intelligent, thoughtful discussion replaces angry, contentious debate... If we are robots that one might be possible. Far too many times I let my emotions get the better of me.

Suicide, like many things, is a personal choice. A bad one but a personal choice. It is a quick way out but I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that people who did that are stupid. The lack of compassion that people who commit suicide feel goes beyond anything anybody who never thought of it would ever know. It is not our place to judge these people. Interesting discussion. >>I think it would be funny if one in every 30 fortunes had a really damning in it.... you know, maybe something like "You will die alone" or "You will be bludgeoned in your bed"(sorry, Smiths flashback there lol That should cause an indigestion.

Thanks for comments! >> If so, I'm not even considering movies like "The Ring." don't, Angloesque. It makes even Exorcist look like a walk in the park on a sunny day. Some of my friends feel the same way you do, they rather not go watch something that makes them lose sleep and gives them unnecessary anxieties. Eric:>> Amazing how real it can seem eh? As a

Anybody whose imagination has a habit of running wild shouldn't watch horror movies or play disturbing computer games. I should tell myself that again. I've just made myself a bit jumpy when I went to my bathroom to retrieve something. The light has been out for some time and I've been too lazy to replace the bulb. Since it's kinda dark, I almo

The things in fortune cookies tend to be as vague as possible so they could easily apply to anybody. But it's fun nonetheless. It also provokes thoughts if you let it. Fun site, look what I got: "Fear will only hinder you." How true. Most of the time, it's fear that keeps me from taking a risk which could have gotten me what i wanted. "Adversity will make you stronger."

It doesn't sound like it's your fault your mother's having problems. Sounds like she's venting on you as well. It's must so hard on you to be in that situation and you must be exhausted. You seem so severe with yourself and you shouldn't blame yourself overmuch. I hope things gets better for you and your mother soon.

Interesting and insightful article, Sally. I do see blind people at the busstop where I take the bus to work. There's always someone (and usually more than one are eager to offer help) who will ask the blind man if he needs any help, after he gets on the bus, sometimes other people will either give up their seat or ask him where he is going. I would say that people are generally helpful when they see someone with a disadvantage like that.

I truly enjoy these articles of yours, historyishere. I've used TVtome to look up on my old favorite 80s TV series. Just for nostalgia. I love 80s shows, they are just pure entertainment without supercomplex twisty plots. (I'd get lost in Law and Order if it wasn't aired on a Sunday night here.) I like that 80s TV theme site, I'll keep on my favorites. <img src="../imag

I think that the scenarios in the original topic is more of a case of favoritism and misplaced appreciation, than about being dreamers and doers. Some people are just all-talk-and-no-substance - everything they say sounds good and of course they are very good at talking themselves out of spots too. Not helping is the blind upper management who can't appreciate those who are truly capable of getting the job

We have girl gangs too. I remember a case where a girl gang tortured one of their own. They somehow managed to keep the victim in one of their homes, tortured, beat up the victim and made her have oral sex with a dog. It is sick. These girls were ranged in the age 13-18. It is frightful how nasty they can be. News reports alleged that the girls had a lack of supervision at home and parents who didn't give a

I remember my transition years, wasn't too long ago. *G* Some days are harder than others. Sometimes just feel like no one cares or just want to be in some other world. But just hang on and keep on going, came out pretty ok - no regrets on the lessons learnt either. *hugs ye*
