Too dramatic. It's a growing experience. You'll make new friends, and if you truly think you're lost without them, you're (in my opinion), a bit lost already. "I only have a few people I can turn to now" That hardly sounds like you're bankrupt for friends. Maybe take stock and take a personal inventory of what you actually do have in your life, not what you think you're losing.

This is a weird site that caught my eye because I love bacon. I love it hot and greasy, and cold and dry. Kind of like my women. Ha. If you want to know if you have access to BaconWhores, type in your postal code and you'll see if there's an outlet near you. Maybe you might even find your future spouse. That's what men really want in life. Bacon, and whores. :)<!-- J

"Of course one could reply that Iran and North Korea are evil nations, full of monkey-men and maniacs hell-bent on reaping havoc throughout the civilised world" Sorry and excuse me but what on earth makes you say something so untrue? Hell bent? To use that term one would think there would be some evidence. Are you basing your thought on the fact that neither country has been 'reaping havoc throughout the civilised world'? Are you that caught up in

"The 2 years since had brought on several hundred more deaths due to the "insurgency". A number that is pretty unimpressive when one considers that America's drunk drivers are more effective killers than the armed guerilla's that make up Iraq's insurgency." unimpressive? That's an interesting comment. What does that say about your definition and context of the word? In other words, what would the "insurgents" have to do and how many Americans woul

Thanks for the curiosity. It's a play on words, but it's a personal thing. I'm sure someone here could figure it out though. And thanks for the welcome! Nice people here.

You pose an abstract question about an even more opaque reality. To me, truth is as hard as stone. It can and frequently does hit someone in the face. Truth must hurt, and hurt is a very wide-ranging term. Discomfort is a good indicator for what is true and real. Truth is frequently followed with the thought that you'd rather not have heard what was said. Truth makes one think in the negative. A blatant lie is often softer and less damaging to a person

I'm not sure exactly what category these recent negotiations with the fabled "insurgents" should fall under. The media always use the terms 'terrorists' and 'insurgents' in the same context. It makes for interesting considerations. For example, negotiating with the people constantly labelled as 'terrorists' makes for a fair and even parallel. "Either you are with us,

I shall do my best Sir Daniel. I'm the jester's personal jester, the skeleton in the politician's closet, the air that the jester breathes and the skeleton that used to breathe, the headjester cheeze, the boss of jesterism, the stealer from the richer, and uh, the stealer of the poorer too I suppose, not to mention the brother to a sister whose favorite stuffed animal when she was young was a red mouse she named "squeaky".
