Installation Error at 6%

Ok, System: XP Pro SP2 W/ all Current updates
P4 2.8Gig W/HT
Gigabyte 8S661FXMP-RZ Mobo
1 Gig Muskin DDR PC400
100Gig Maxtor SATA 1500 HD
Onboard AC97 Audio
Onboard 10/100 Lan
Sony 800A DVD-Rom/Ram CD-RW Dual Layer
Error Message:
There was an error installing Galatic Civilizations II. The following error
occurred:
Extract:C:\DOCUMN`1\GANICH~1\Temp\sdcentral\base\GFX\exp\explosions\thumbs.db_ (file not found)
Result: Installation Failed(27)

Would you like to see the installation Log file?

I watched the program download and at 6% the installation fails with the message, the directory mentioned is there, but only .png files are present, during and after the installation starts and fails. I have the log file if needed.
I have also deleted the directory structure to the local files\temp directory and tried the download 3 times with same results.

Everyone is having this issue, are you trying to update? or did you obtain the game after Jan 3

Same issue here. I reported it to Stardock already. It happened once before but after a wait of 2 days they made a new update and voila it was fixed. I am sure it will be fine in a bit.

Same issue here. I updated yesterday just fine. But was having some issues so decided to wipe it and install again and now this. Very sad.

There's going to be issues with the beta downloading as we prepare the system for the final. In all likelyhood, the beta will disappear entirely next week.

Nope have been in beta since last year, problems with comp forced me to remove all games and start installing from scratch. Had just gotten to the point I could install. So, clean system, clean instal.
Thanks for the heads up Frogboy, will just wait until it is released
